How would you feel if MN went offline for a couple of weeks?

Panic stricken? Insecure? Indifferent?

I'd probably run around in circles at first wringing my hands until the shock set in, then I'd sit there with the 1000 yard stare distractedly answering anyone who talked to me Grin

It was the soap opera thread that made me wonder whether anyone would be a bit relieved the temptation had been taken away so they could break their cycle of abuse.

Can't resist coming on MN but it winds you up?

I see that quite often on AIBU, posters getting really angry because of this or that but are unable to tear themselves away.

It's easier said than done to say turn it off or it's only the internet, when clearly it's more than that for some.

So how would you react?

I'd wonder if productivity in the workplace would increase so dramatically that the recession would be declared over and the country would be booming again :o

Al1son · 13/04/2011 18:48

I'd probably get the essays I have to do for my degree finished on time.

fatlazymummy · 13/04/2011 20:11

It wouldn't bother me at all. It is only one of several forums that I use, and not really my favourite one anyway.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 13/04/2011 20:26

So what other forums are there, FLM? < Boggles >

Is it a bit telling that I thought 'Fuck - Quick - Check it's not in Site Stuff - NO - Relief'....??

But I've stolen this from LaWeasel

But when I don't have it. I am obsessed with MN for a few days and really miss it, then don't care, then pop on and don't post very much for a few days (doesn't seem as interesting) then get sucked in... cycle starts all over again. It's like crack I tell you. Crack

I'd be fine if we had some notice and could swap some email addresses with the people I usually PM with.... which is something I guess I should do anyway... Just In Case. You all know who you are, PM me your details :)

Oblomov · 13/04/2011 21:13

Depends. Sometimes I seem to really 'need' MN. Other times, I can not log on for quite a while and do not seem to need it at all. I guess it depends on my emotional state and what is going on in my RL.

FellatioNels0n · 13/04/2011 23:17

I go through phases where I am a bit bored by it but I still can't help logging on about five times a day even then. Shock It might do me good to have an enforced break. Cold Turkey is the only way for me.

CheerfulYank · 13/04/2011 23:26

I would miss my friends. :(

FellatioNels0n · 13/04/2011 23:29

Cheerful do you find it odd being surrounded by all these British people? don't you find the things we say a bit strange? Grin

NotShortImHotCrossBunSized · 13/04/2011 23:30

No no no no no no no no no no no no no. It will never happen.

I've actually started to pick it up a bit and use it in RL fellatio Blush

I love it; it's very interesting to get a different perspective from another culture. It doesn't seem like another culture at first, but it really is. :) I adore mumsnet!
