I used to like myself in jeans!
Now I hate myself and just cant seem to find a good fit.
Please tell me you feel the same!!!

Bugbears in order...

Dreaded muffin tops - normal rise jeans including all the mega expensive ones give me horrendous muffin tops. AND I feel like my body has been cut in half. Breathe? No chance.

High rise hell - going up on the waist line to eliminate the muffin tops is now comfy BUT how to find a fashionable pair or any at all? The pockets are stitched so high up the bum (and are too small) giving a massive expanse of arse. Why oh why.
They just dont cut the legs the same in this shape, too baggy on the bum and thigh and what is with M&S leg lengths. Does anyone have the right length legs for them?

Camel hoof - dont get me started. Does your vagina get fatter or something?

I tried the tummy tuck jeans but they just shove the fat up near my boobs.

I'm an apple shape so in theory jeans should look great on my bum and legs. If only...
Can you all make me feel better please with your tales of woe over your jeans? What do you wear and why, what shape are you and what would you change to get the perfect pair?

I HATE my jeans. They fall down all the time and everyone can see my bumcrack - not nice! I am a pear shape, always been a size bigger than on top but since having my DS and putting on too much pregnancy weight my stomach doesn't fit into my jeans or if I go a size down they give the hugest muffin top ever! I have big thighs too so have always gone for wide leg flared shape to give me the best shape. Have tried belts but it makes my waist sweaty, blergh. What are tummy tuck jeans?

So i've decided I'm going to stick with leggings, far more comfortable and no bum on show. I am also slowly starting to loose weight so hopefully will drop a dress size or two before we start ttc again!

If the perfect pair existed they would stay the hell up!

Tummy tuck jeans - Not Your Daughters Jeans by US company. £120 + in John Lewis - they have tummy flattening bands built in.

I hate myself in jeans.

Disclaimer - I am old and have had hordes and hordes of children.

I despair. I really really do. I actually would pay ten fortunes and sell one of said children for jeans that fit.

Dozer · 11/04/2011 21:36

£120 to be squashed in, ouch!

yanbu. Am having similar probs.

Inertia · 11/04/2011 21:40

I have quite an expansive arse curvy figure, with chunky legs. I tend to buy Next bootcut jeans- they fit well, are not desperately unfashionable, and I read in the Sunday paper that bootcut is coming back into fashion.

FabbyChic · 11/04/2011 21:46

Ive an hour glass figure and have no problems with jeans at all a size 12 from anywhere fits dandy.

MayDayChild · 11/04/2011 21:48

I always get the dreaded muffin top (size 14) but a size 16 is too big... Doesn't help that my top half is a size 10-12, either. :(

worraliberty · 11/04/2011 21:51

What Fabby said but an 8/10

OP, what about Jeggings? Would they be more comfortable?

MistyB · 11/04/2011 21:53

I have been shopping around recently and found some nice ones in Hobbs (not somewhere I would normally go for jeans but they suit me!). I've also just bought a pair of "curvy" jeans from Gap after years of finding all of their jeans unflattering and they are nice. Both have comfortable waists and are narrow on the thigh.

MayDayChild · 11/04/2011 21:57

have got some jeggings but they do tend to fall down! Unless you get the ones with a waist band like jeans. Back to square one! They also look a bit stupid with trainers when dashing about park with kids!

How about lace up pumps? They're in fashion now and you can get some great colours?

About a fiver a pair in Primark

CHST · 11/04/2011 22:20

I had to laugh at the camel hoof comment sorry! Not sure what shape I am but I had so many problems finding Jeans that fit well eg that didn't show bum crack or ones that fit legs well but had a massive waist. I found two sorts finally that fit well in all places

GAP bootcut
Monsoon bootcut
The Gap ones are strech material so very giving (I incidentally tried a pair of skinnys on same leg length and waist size and couldn't even fit my legs in!

pushmepullyou · 11/04/2011 22:24

I've just got some Levi Curve ID jeans in a demi curve with a medium rise, which look pretty good.

Booandpops · 11/04/2011 22:44

I have had 2 c sections so need tummy control!!!

I love next high waisted jeans. In the catalogue this summer they are doing high waisted shorts and jeans which hold everything nicely in place
They are flared tho which I love but some may not be keen on

M&co have a good range of jeans and trousers which seem to be cut to accommodate ladies that have had a few babies too and online they have a lot of offers on reguarly

BagofHolly · 11/04/2011 23:49

I think it could be worth trying some different styles from NYDJ. They are magical but you do have to try a few cuts. They do one which is really high waisted and made my arse look like it was visible from space, but the rest are remarkable.

BagofHolly · 11/04/2011 23:51

BTW I've had 2 sections, the most recent one only 3 months ago after twins, so need ones which accommodate apron-guttyness, and NYDJ do that.

Bubbaluv · 12/04/2011 04:20

MiH jeans are the best I've found by a long shot since my 2 c-sections.
Surely you have some Spanx? If not GET SOME!! Then you can wear all sorts of things your thought your couldn't! Get the ones that come all the way up to your bra though - AMA-ZA-HING.

Bubbaluv · 12/04/2011 04:20

MiH - mid rise I meant to specify.

Insert1x50p · 12/04/2011 04:56

I am an athletic build with broad shoulders, chunky thighs but a small waist and flattish stomach.

I wear 7 for all Mankind classic bootcut in NY Dark or Black. They're fairly low rise but not crack skimmers and don't create muffin top.

I know bootcut is scoffed at on the Style forum but frankly, the world does not need to see me in skinnies unless I'm wearing chunky boots with them, and it's too hot.

Insert1x50p · 12/04/2011 04:57

I've also heard really really good things about the new Levi range for curvier figures but never tried them myself.

msbossy · 12/04/2011 06:22

I've got some Fat Face bootcuts that are nice and generous for bum and wide legs. And some really cheap New Look ones in a larger size that are great for post-birth months weeks.

Disclaimer: I have resigned myself to crack showing and therefore adopt a big pants policy to avoid embarrassment.

northerngirl41 · 12/04/2011 07:49

Firstly, I am firmly of the opinion that your entire body changes shape when you have children, so you might as well just throw out all your old jeans as they will always look slightly odd.

Secondly, for those inbetweenies George at Asda do size 11, 13, 15 etc.

If you can't bring yourself to brave Asda, Boden's uptown jeans are a really good fit.

Bubbaluv · 12/04/2011 09:07

Spanx Northern...Spanx are the answer!

SaggyHairyArse · 12/04/2011 09:11

I hated jeans post-children until I found 'curvy'by Gap.
