I think I might be. Tis DHs 40th and just realised I want to take him to see the tattoo on his birthday. But short of a second mortgage think I may be doomed. If anyone knows of any reasonably priced, special enough for a birthday and within a walk of Edinburgh Castle accomodation let me know. Don't like giving up easily! or should I just buy an ipad

Have you tried www.booking.com ?

There's loads of B&Bs on Minto St, on the Southside but really only 5 mins on a bus, and there's loads of buses that go that way. Not too far, and maybe being a little bit out of town will be nice in the festival, it can get a little manic and noisy in the centre.

I'm getting married that weekend in Edinburgh. I advised all my guests to get accomodation a month ago. Hope they did!

Try airbnb.com

I love it and now no longer book hotels!

Try The Knight's Residence serviced apartments with a concierge on the door. Great place...
