One of my facebook friends posted this as her status:

'So you ask... do I work? Uh yes, I work 24 hours a day. Why? Because I am a mom. I am an alarm clock, a cook, a maid, a teacher, a nanny, a nurse, a handyman, a security officer, a judge/jury, a photographer, a counselor, a chauffeur, an ATM, a jungle gym & a comforter. I don't get holidays, sick pay or days off. I work through the DAY & NIGHT. I am on call at ALL hours. Re-post if you are proud to be a mom!!!'

I commented 'lazy bitch' AIBU?

Laugh? I though I'd never start.

unfitmother · 08/04/2011 19:45

'fraped' Hmm
I really find that term offensive.

Offended by your view of SAHPs. Offended by your calling a friend a bitch. Offended by your use of the term 'fraped'. You do strike me as generally unreasonable and disagreeable. Sorry.

hairylights · 08/04/2011 19:48

YAB to use the word 'bitch' but I agree with the sentiment.

Just recently I've been really, really tempted to write on my facebook 'the next time you write a status moaning about your child/ren, or winging about being a parent, think about how you'd feel if you lost them, or about those of us who can't carry to term'.

I've had a 'friend' call her two year old a 'lazy little bugger' and a 'PITA' amongst other things, not in good humour, either.

See link above MrsBanana, it's too unpleasant for me to spell out.

dolldaggabuzzbuzz · 08/04/2011 19:55

@Loopyloopschuppachups,I apologise unreservedly for any offence I have caused. Could you furnish my limited vocabulary with a non-offensive term which describes the situation? Many thanks in anticipation of your immediate assistance in this matter.
Once again, sorry Blush

I'd assume you were joking with the lazy bitch comment, and I would have laughed if I saw it.
However, fraped? Best to forget that word, it is disrespectful to people who have been raped. .

CurrySpice · 09/04/2011 08:39

Fwiw I call my mother "mom". I am from the black country where all mums are moms.

It's a vomit inducing status update. But I don't really understand your reply tbh

saffy85 · 09/04/2011 08:50

YANBU for saying she's a lazy bitch. That was uncalled for.

A few people on my FB post this sentimental shite and I ignore it. I have to sit on my hands sometimes to stop myself posting a really sarcastic comment under statuses like this though Grin

saffy85 · 09/04/2011 08:51

YABU I meant not YANBU. Doh! Blush

ednurse · 09/04/2011 08:51

she's BU, it's mum not mom
