I confess. I am somewhat excited about this here wedding. I'm not a massive royal fan. I'm not usually bothered one way or tother what they do.

But..... I like a nice wedding. I like wearing nice summery frocks and i like nice nibbly food.

My whole entire family and circle of aquaintances think i am somewhat bonkers so i shan't be inviting them. this will be a nice summery reception party for one.

I intend to wear my frock, eat my nibbles and watch and enjoy the aforesaid wedding on my own.

AIBU?

You can buy said gloves in John Lewis! I want to go to a party. The royal wedding gives us all an extra holiday-day and we should all enjoy it. Don't like pimms though...

MikeRotch · 08/04/2011 20:29

this fairy bread crap isnt food
please stop talking about it

AuldAlliance · 08/04/2011 20:30

glasnost · 08/04/2011 20:40

AtYourCremeEgg · 08/04/2011 20:40

29th Auld. i don't get a holiday but i'm not working that day.

I shall look out some bunting.

piebald · 08/04/2011 20:41

Not at all, you enjoy it if you want to

deedledum · 08/04/2011 20:48

I too am planning pretty dress and nibbles and fizz with pals and our various children, but was slightly concerned to discover the wedding starts at 11, so all the pre-bumpf on the TV will probably start about 9.30/10...can we really begin with the drinks on a Friday morning when we have to be responsible for seven children for the rest of the day?! Why couldn't they have got hitched about 3pm and we could have settled down for the rest of the evening?!

pointydog · 08/04/2011 20:49

That is just what the oldie old folk are doing at my local day centre. Except they have company.

Skifit · 08/04/2011 20:53

Its fun on the day to see what they think Kate will be wearing...
What time do you think all the 'run up ' will start... 7.30am ??
Anyone in Wilts/Hants want to have a Mums net Royal wedding get together on the day with kids and all ??
Infact this may be my next post....!!

QuickLookBusy · 08/04/2011 20:58

YANBU I love a wedding! I don't care whose it is, I just love all that "arhhh they are in love...arhhh doesn't she look lovely.... arhhh look at those bridesmaids...

DD1 is very excited and will be watching with me, DH will not be watching DD2 is having a party with her friends. They are dressing up as members of the royal familyHmm

We will be having little triangular sandwiches, pink fizz and scones.

AtYourCremeEgg · 08/04/2011 21:01

your point pointy????????

CheerfulYank · 08/04/2011 21:16

OOOOOOOH! ME! INVITE ME!

Nobody loves the thought of posh royal party more than an American!

QuickLookBusy · 08/04/2011 21:19

Just took me ages to work out your last post AtYourCremeEggGrin

And I would advise you not to get anywhere near my Creme Egg!

YouaretooniceNOT · 08/04/2011 21:22

OP - Are you also sending the happy couple to be a card?

I have received a wedding invitation from my sons' school to a party there on 28th April.

Is this the big day? (cannot be arsed to look it up on Yahoo!)

IDontThinkSoDoYOU · 08/04/2011 21:23

Oh I really would like to come too. I suggested a little cul-de-sac party to the neigbours and they laughed.

I've got a frock and I'm not afraid to use it :)

TheRedQueen · 08/04/2011 21:37

Of course you are not being unreasonable.

Were I not also a member of royalty (and therefore invited to the real thing) I would naturally be doing the same.

pointydog · 08/04/2011 23:08

My point is that only immobile old people short of a few marbles will buy a new frock to watch the wedding on the telly.

CheerfulYank · 08/04/2011 23:13

Well, I'm not an immobile old person and I totally would! Any excuse for frock-wearing is my motto. :)
