why is he eating after his dinner????

Is it illegal now?

MrBloomEatsVeggies · 07/04/2011 22:21

Totally, Numberfour. It really is just grim, I used to shout at my Dad at the dinner table when he was noisily demolishing his Sunday roast, poor bloke. I was only 7!

Numberfour · 07/04/2011 22:23

My dad used to eat cornflakes late at night (after supper!!!) and it was torture!!! Was too scared of my dad to shout at him! I would just leave the room as I do now.

Bit of a case of marrying your father? Oh, my gawd. What have I done!

OP posts:
Numberfour · 07/04/2011 22:27

Thank Fuck! he has finished!!

Do you get up very swiftly and turn away as you're walking out so your DH doesn't spot the revulsion and annoyance written all over your face?

I have to do that with my DH Grin

manicmummyoftwo · 07/04/2011 22:28

Eating noisily is grounds for divorce isn't it?

By the way - it's a sitting room, with a sofa in it :o

FunnysInTheGarden · 07/04/2011 22:30

eating after your dinner is piggish and rude, no matter where he is

manicmummyoftwo · 07/04/2011 22:32

What about eating after your tea Funnys?

ShowOfHands · 07/04/2011 22:39

Piggish and rude? What if you're hungry? Are we allowed any exceptions to this rule? What if you're having a film night with snacks? What if you've got low blood sugar? What if it's just a bloody biscuit and you're a grown up?

FunnysInTheGarden · 07/04/2011 22:42

NO. You have your dinner and then starve until breakfast. Why do you not eat enough at dinner time? If you are a diabetic then thats OK

pjmama · 07/04/2011 22:45

Can I still be a couch potato if I'm sitting on a sofa or settee? Confused

ShowOfHands · 07/04/2011 22:51

It's like the old 'why didn't you wee at break time' when you need a wee during double maths. Well, er because of basic biology. I don't have a wee to prevent a future wee in the same way that I don't overeat at dinner to prevent hunger several hours later. Eating to appetite is recommended. But don't worry, I'll force more veg in than I'm strictly able to eat at tomorrow's dinner and won't touch a morsel until you tell me I can. Better?

FunnysInTheGarden · 07/04/2011 23:16

oh SOH you have gone all rebellious teenage on me. Have dinner, chillax, go to bed. There is no need for Dorritos

Numberfour · 08/04/2011 07:25

If I only ever did things I needed to, FITG, rather than sometimes doing the things I wanted to, then I would probably be a little less like this Smile.

For instance, I cannot say setee for couch, or front room for lounge. It is Wrong. Even WrongER than sofa and sitting room.

AintMissBeehiving · 08/04/2011 07:33

It's a living room and a sofa. Grin

Bluemoonrising · 08/04/2011 07:38

YANBU. You should get him a shed specifically for eating noisy foods.

If it is a living room, do you also have a 'sleeping room', a 'cooking room' and a 'defecating room'?

FurCoatNoNickname · 08/04/2011 07:47

Front room. It USED to be a settee but now it's a sofa. Not sure when that changed!

Crisp crunching doesn't bother me in the slightest but DH's foot-scratching gives me murderous thoughts Angry

Melly19MummyToBe · 08/04/2011 08:31

Living room, and a settee :o

RE not eating after dinner thing. I'm 31+3 weeks pregnant and constantly hungry. So am I not allowed to eat after my dinner? Confused I tend to graze all day to be honest.

Scotsfairy · 08/04/2011 09:16

Oh god...I thought I was the only one who hated noisy eating!

Relief Grin

I'm not alone Grin

YouaretooniceNOT · 08/04/2011 11:51

It's living room - isn't it? Grin

Pass me a Dorito please..
