To think it's really not a good idea revealing the sad contents of our 6 year olds diary complete with photos in your newspaper column ?

Yes, yes I know it's the daily mail but even so what a disgusting thing to do.... it's not as if the poor child can make an informed choice. Pah

Don't you think the little girl looks like Emma Watson? Really quite a remarkable resemblance.

Agree it is horrid and sad for the mum to share this. Surely she would have better off sitting down with her daughter privately to discuss why she feels this way without sharing it with the world? Sad

What a completely redundant article. I don't see the purpose of it.
It contains nothing of any value about how to handle this sort of situation, no ideas on how to protect our children from these pressures, no thoughts on where these ideas may have come from (apart from some vague 'guilty mummy' stuff - what about school bullying/peer pressure etc.etc?).

I can't begin to think why this woman felt is was appropriate to write an article making her DD a target for gossip and bullying - it really doesn't matter whether it is true or not.

Oh, and why am I not surprised that the daughter has stopped writing down how she feels about herself? Doesn't mean that she has stopped feeling that way, just cos mummy can't read it in a diary (assuming it is true).
