Depends how cold your fridge is tbh. Our fridge is really cold so we get longer out of most things, especially veg and potatoes ( I keep mine in the fridge)

Will probably taste better than it did on day ! :)

I would
Piping hot
Straight into the pit of fire that is my stomach

My husband always reckons 72 hours for cooked food, thing is that bacteria that makes you sick doesn't always show as mould, so looking for mould isn't a good guide. A week is way too long for meat, might be fine on this occasion, but I wouldn't keep doing it myself.

longislandicetea · 05/04/2011 18:44

Yes fine to eat. If you buy a ready spag bol from supermarket that would have a BB date of 5 days to a week from when you brought it.

FabbyChic · 05/04/2011 18:46

When you buy read made meals they have ingredients in them that make them keep, fresh bolognaise kept in the fridge does not. I'd not touch it, would be all fat.

Onetoomanycornettos · 05/04/2011 19:11

Once you have opened a packet of ready made food, it then starts to spoil from that point on, which is why they often say eat within 24 or 48 hours. The fact that it keeps when packaged in vacuum packs and with chemicals for preservation doens't give a good guide of what is ok for your own made-from-scratch spag bol.

Littlepurpleprincess · 05/04/2011 19:57

Look at it and smell it. Trust your senses. But reheat it REALLY well.

GloriaSmut · 05/04/2011 19:59

Nope. 3 days absolutely maximum if stored in fridge. Also, it doesn't have to smell in order to be heaving with bacteria.

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/04/2011 20:06

I'd eat it - well heated. Why would it be all fat, Fabby? I use 5% fat mince and a tablespoon of oil for 4 of us. I don't think that would lead to a huge congealing layer.

Flisspaps · 05/04/2011 20:08

Sniff, heat, enjoy.

squeakytoy · 05/04/2011 20:09

I wouldnt, and I am fairly lax about eating things that are out of date so long as they look and smell fine. I wouldnt risk something that has been sat in the fridge for a week though. I always freeze my bolognaise leftovers, mixed with the spaghetti, and it defrosts and reheats fine.

Onetoomanycornettos · 05/04/2011 20:11

What has smelling got to do with it? The really bad bacteria doesn't smell necessarily. 3/4 days max, I think and even then it has to be heated properly.

I don't think it's a big deal if you eat it, you'll probably survive, but having seen my poor husband after he ate some badly cooked gammon, well, I will never ever again just take a chance with meat, he kept us up all night (and I've had the same with badly cooked bbq chicken).

DaisyFields · 05/04/2011 20:11

I wouldn't after 3 or 4 days, personally.

HeadfirstForHalos · 05/04/2011 21:53

Our rule is 48 hours after it has been cooked, so if I make it Monday eve, we have to eat it by wednesday eve, or throw it out Thursday morning.

Asinine · 07/04/2011 09:01

OP Did you eat it? Are you still alive?

Tangle · 07/04/2011 10:05

Cooking thoroughly should kill any bacteria present, but can do nothing about the toxins some of those bacteria may have released whilst growing - which can also make you very ill.
