Just read an article.

Its about a family with 3 DC's who all breastfeed - oldest is 13yo. Also the DH breastfeeds as his parents both died of cancer and it's meant to have poitive antibodies.

Now I read the article very pleased this family did what they felt best, and very Envy as I wanted to BF my DS but milk stopped at 7 weeks. Sad

Mum talked about how her DC's are never ill, grade A, sporty students and how she has done the best for them.

Now here comes the judgy AIBU bit.

The 13yo is 10st and visibly obese. I actually went Shock and then Hmm when I read this bit and saw his picture.

I am B very U aren't I. Blush

To your point about him being obese- agreed.

TattyDevine · 04/04/2011 21:29

Can you clarify for me why it is relevant that the 13 year old is obese?

Why, in particular, would you think this is relevant?

Notalone · 04/04/2011 21:30

Its not a stitch up because I have also seen it when I got bored and bought the magazine read it in the doctors surgery.

It made me very very angry too. Not because of the BF though to be fair I do think it is very odd to still be BF'g a teenager who is going through puberty. I was angry because there is a £1000 fee payable to anyone who gets a story published in this particular section of the magazine. The woman says something along the lines of

"I have been sworn to secrecy about this. My Ds loves BF because it makes him feel close to me, but he never wants his friends to find out"

Well nice one love. I hope the grand was worth it because your son is now going to live a fucked up miserable existence thanks to your "secrecy". I somehow don't think his friends at school will think it is endearing and he is likely to be severely bullied as a result. I would not be surprised if the whole family gets bullied and they have to move. What on earth possessed her to do this to her children?

Thingumy · 04/04/2011 21:31

getting a teenager to suck on your breasts is sick (same goes for the father daughter scenario)

Anyway what a pile of shite and if true, they need a thorough investigation with regards to their mental health.

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 21:32

Sorry for accusing you of being a wind-up, OP. Blush

Thingumy is right on the money.

MerryMarigold · 04/04/2011 21:37

A grand. There you go! Some people will make anything up for a grand. And when the teenager gets the latest games console with his cut, his friend's really won't care what rubbish his mum made up about him.

Thingumy · 04/04/2011 21:39

really?

Can't say most teens would pat their mate on the back for sucking on his mothers tits and getting it published in a shitty magazine.

It's warped even if it's just for the cash.

MerryMarigold · 04/04/2011 21:43

Yeah but if it's just for the cash then it doesn't really happen does it? They've just managed to get themselves a load of cash for posing for some pics (where you don't actually see anything).

TheProvincialLady · 04/04/2011 21:43

Quelle bolleaux.

I always think it is a mistake to believe a single word in those rags. Even the top tips are blatant piss takes. Most of it comes from even more dubious American publications.

I wouldn't waste your time having an opinion on it TBH.

TheProvincialLady · 04/04/2011 21:44

And here's how I know this stuff is made up. To my shame, I have a dreadful cousin who appeared in one, with sob story. Completely untrue. Well, there was a basic element that was true, but it was made up into a heroine story that never happened.

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 21:45

That woman looks like she would fuck a goat for shits and giggles if I'm being frank.

ENormaSnob · 04/04/2011 21:46

Having an xbox will not detract from the bitty issue.

Thingumy · 04/04/2011 21:46

I always thought they were for real life trolls and attention seekers.

The people in the stories don't usually have many brain cells do they?

You certainly don't if you buy this shit to read for pleasure.

MerryMarigold · 04/04/2011 21:47

marmalade, I love your name and i love your post!

Mandy2003 · 04/04/2011 21:47

I just got round to reading this today as well! As I recall, she said he would have to stop at puberty Shock

I don't think that particular magazine publishes fake stories in general but I suppose it might have slipped though the net.

The mum says she has to eat 9,000 calories per day to keep up with the BF. Let it be known that she is in no way slim Biscuit

And yes, the son is visibly obese, 10 stone at age 13 and not reached puberty yet presumably. It's bad though, the children I'm sure wanted to remain anonymous but mum's face is clearly visible. Hope she's never picked any of them up from school.

Yes but if some of us grown women see it and feel repulsed by it and believe it could be a possibility, then impressionable teenagers of 13 are likely to believe it too. I would not like to be that boy walking into school this week with all the other kids and teachers knowing he has sucked on his mothers breasts recently, even if it was just "posed". Whether it is true or not the whole thing is sick because of the children and the effect it will have on them long after the money has gone

Thingumy · 04/04/2011 21:52

Here's a beaut from TAB fb page in response to the article

the boy seems quite happy to be doing what he is doing,if he wasnt im sure he would stop!she propely dont go out in public because of people passing so much judgement!she aint hurting him or making him do it,it would be a differnt story if she was.its so easy to sit and say oh my god thats bad,but she has differnt views and we should respect that like all breatfeeded woman are!

Do these people breed?

Thingumy agreed- school is a big enough boiling pot for bullying without this woman painting a target on her son's back and shouting "Duck!"

I'm two-minded about that though to be truthful. I'm two-minded on te whole thing! As much as part of me thinks that what the woman's doing sucks (padon the pun), I like to think myself tolerant of other lifestyles. I'm less than conventional myself and suffer from a disability for which I was mercilessly bullied at school and I try because of this to appreciate that it takes all sorts to make a world.

So, I try really hard to look at why someone does what they do before rushing to the toiket to throw up. I'm only human and can't help but pass my personal opinion on it but I wouldn't condone anyone bullying the boy, even if his Mum has totally set him up for it.

THe truth is, the world's not like that and he probably WILL get tortured at aschool. Poor kid.

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 21:56

"The mum says she has to eat 9,000 calories per day to keep up with the BF"

She looks like she can shit, that's a certain.

Well, hel-looooo Wink

ENormaSnob · 04/04/2011 21:57

He will be crusified at school.

Tbh the thought of a 13 year old bf is making me nauseous.

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 21:59

Hello Norma Grin

(It is I, Bupcakes [wunk])

TattyDevine · 04/04/2011 21:59

Once again, of what relevance is the weight of child breastfeeding? Do you think it is breastmilk alone that has caused the calorie overload? Do you think if he gave up this one pleasure the weight would magically melt away? Hmm

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 22:02

I think that the relevance is that the freaky titty mama has claimed that her kids are healthy, sporting kiddiwinks.

Sorry but your son's BMI disgrees...
