to think its too much for a 12 year old to wear foundation

My 12 year old has been wearing it for a few days now, literally plastered on. Don't even know where she got it from. I've gently suggested tinted moisturuser/concealer (her skin is fine btw) but no, she thinks it looks good but I don't think it's needed or really appropriate... am I just old???

I've drawn the line at foundation with my 12 year old. I've told her that she's got such beautiful peaches and cream skin that foundation would hide just how beautiful it is. She's a bit heavy on the eye make up sometimes, but as long as it's weekends only, we've found a good compromise.

YANBU at all.
DD and I had a chat about this a few days ago. Thankfully, she is a sensible girl. It started when she mentioned a friend who wears the wrong shade and looks orange. We talked about people who do this, people who dont blend in at the jaw line so they end up with an orange face and white neck, How if your block your pores you will get spots, and how you need different colours for different times of year. We discussed how she has lovely skin and beautiful freckles, and she doesnt need foundation as she is lovely already. She was quite sensible about the whole thing, doesnt actually want to wear foundation and I was really impressed.
Amazingly, she does listen to me about makeup, not much else I studied deportment at college, and, although Im a butch outdoor bird, I can apply it quite well. I think she was quite suprised
Id go for the makeover idea, pre primed like someone already mentioned.

Or take her to one of your friends. I have 2 freinds who are total whizzes with make up. They have 65 colours of eyemake-up and it is just beautiful to watch them apply it to themselves. Maybe take her to one of your friends. get them to explain that it's either lips or eyes, not both. great eyes, is the killer isn't it? you see ladies that slap on orange here, silver there, eyeliner, this and that , and they look to die-for.

THIS is what she could do with learning. no ?

I'm mean, I'd confiscate it and give her a tinted moisturiser!
