anyone know of any I can use on a windy day to dry my washing that won't blow off the line?

Marking my place as I'd like some too.

Ta Dah!

herdingcats · 02/04/2011 19:34

Can't you get loop things that you push the coat hanger hook through?

LoneRanger4 · 02/04/2011 19:38

I got some from lakeland, they're called 'hook ups'.

senua · 02/04/2011 19:46

How many of those Lakeland things do you get? Please tell me they are not £2.29 each!

wandawings · 02/04/2011 19:49

THESE ARE GREAT!

CarGirl · 02/04/2011 19:51

I got some from betterware as well I think. have lasted for years and left on the line all year around.

LoneRanger4 · 02/04/2011 19:58

They look good wandawings. I think the lakeland ones come in a pack but not sure how many, maybe half a dozen.

Nagoo · 02/04/2011 20:41

what do you use them for?

why do i need my stuff on a hanger rather than peg? Confused

CarGirl · 02/04/2011 20:44

You put wet clothes straight onto hangers, they dry and then get put away in wardrobe - no ironing or folding involved Grin tis revolutionary.

lyra41 · 05/05/2011 08:40

thanks wanda, I had a feeling lakeland would come through for us.

You can also use a clothes peg to clip the coat hanger to the washing line.

SarkyLady · 05/05/2011 09:23

On a related note...

I totally recommend the Lakeland smalls dryers. I have 4!
All my kids clothes and adult underwear go on them on the line. Makes life much easier if it starts to rain or all is not dry by the end of the day as I bring them in a clip over a curtain pole.

last week i was faced with the same dilema, i remembered my gran had wee plastic tab things that folded over the line and you put your hanger through 2 holes
i rummaged the recycling, got a milk jug, cut into strips about an inch wide & 3" long, punched a hole in either end and folded over the line
worked just the same and saved a trip to lakeland

lyra41 · 15/08/2012 12:34

I ended up inventing my own with loops of string, it works a treat!

Co-incidence! 1 of my ancient betterware ones just shattered and dumped my tee-shirt on the ground. They don't seem to do the any more - I guess they just lasted too long (15+years). Like the milk bottle idea but I guess you have to put them on each time, the betterware ones just stayed there and the hole was just big enough for the hanger hook so they didn't jump out. I'll be spending hours hunting online for the same thing!

mrswhiplington · 13/08/2022 12:30

I've always used a couple of clothes pegs.

NorthernSoul55 · 13/08/2022 12:39

Make a loop from a plastic cable tie. Put it over the line and thread one end of the loop through the other so it tightens over the line. Hang the hanger through the free end.
I also use these on hangers in the (overstuffed!) wardrobe so I can hang 2 garments in the same space as one.
Hope I've explained it properly!
