Do some people mistake laziness as being unorganised?

I have friends who constantly go on about how unorganised they are.

BUT

If you have been home all day not done a scrap of housework and have no food in so you have to go to macdonalds for your tea, would you say that was unorganised or lazy?

It's a bit of both really.

There's no food in, they probably know that, so lazy to not nip to the supermarket and get something.

But disorganised, in the sense they don't appear to be planning ahead.

TotemPole · 02/04/2011 20:28

It must work out expensive. 1 adult and 2 children having happy/value meals would be at least £9. To do that 3 times a week seems extravagant to me.

Nagoo · 02/04/2011 20:32

In the OP's description, i would say lazy.

Unless there is some MH issue there (and I mean to suggest that in the most PC way possible).

hocuspontas · 02/04/2011 20:33

But going to McDonald's isn't lazy. You have to get off your arse to do that. Getting a pizza delivered is lazy.

annapolly · 02/04/2011 20:38

SardineQueen, you are so right.

TattyDevine · 02/04/2011 20:38

People think McDonalds is the devils food.

Its not great. They've taken some of the salt out of it, and improved the "provenance" of the meat (chicken breast, british beef, etc) from what it was (NOT TO SAY ITS GREAT) - but its still pretty so-so, granted.

BUT

So many people think if they go to a supermarket and buy some bits and pieces and piece together a meal that is better than McDonalds.

Sometimes it is. But if you analyse it in terms of calories, saturated fat, and macro and micro nutrients, often its no better. Shock, horror, sometimes its worse.

How many people have done weight watchers and been to Boots or M&S for a sandwich, done their funny little points calculator and realised they could have had a Quarter Pounder with cheese and a diet coke for less points than their chicken tomato lettuce and mayo on whole wheat.

Anyone ever looked at Spaghetti Bolognaise...tomatoes and onions aint that shit hot when they've been simmered down for 45 minutes and they are the only veg. Dont get me started on beef mince.

But you made it, so you must care, mustn't you. Yes. Good for you Confused

God, so someone isn't the perfect mum and would rather MN all day than do housework! Who fucking cares? I don't. I enjoy being lazy. The odd burger won't kill them.

GandTiceandaslice · 02/04/2011 20:44

The week before last I had a lazy day & then took the kids to McDonalds in the evening.

Happylander · 02/04/2011 20:44

I am lazy. If I can get away with not doing something or leave it until another day then I will. No idea why I am like this as I work my butt off at work and get really cheesed off by lazy colleagues. The longer I have been off work, the lazier I have got. I sometimes have no bread in my house and the other day had to add water to the milk to make it go further as hadn't been arsed to go to the shop the day before. Mind you it could just be I hate shopping. It is boring and I can't buy what I want as I'm skint so it is depressing too. I could go a Maccy D's right now Grin

benelf · 02/04/2011 20:47

I am just like SardineQueen - very organised and at heart quite lazy. I just get done what needs to be done in the most efficient way possible so that I can then be lazy Grin

Being home all day and not doing a scrap of housework could easily be me. My children are 2.8 and 9 months and while I do obviously feed them and tidy up the kitchen afterwards you won't catch me with a hoover most days, or scrubbing the bathroom, ironing, anything like that.
