To be cross about a bump on the head

Tonight when I picked up my DDs aged 8 & 5 from the childminder, my 8-year-old said that her head hurt. I thought it might be because they had been up late the night before at a dancing show. Then she said that she had been pulled backwards off a wall by a boy at school and banged her head on some rocks behind it. She had told the teacher on duty who had asked if she wanted an ice pack, and when she said no, replied 'well let's not have all this drama then' (she was crying and hugging her friend) and no more action taken. When we got home I felt the back of her head and she had a quite a big lump. There was no note in her bag and nothing had been said to her about if she felt sleepy or felt sick later to tell someone. After her bath she was dancing about and then said she felt weird and wanted to go to bed (VERY unusual...!) which made me a bit worried.

I am not overly-protective or unduly worried about the incident itself, as rough and tumble is normal, but I am concerned that the teacher did not at least check more thoroughly or let me know. My DS is going away on her first three-day residential with the school in three weeks and this has made me feel nervous when I hadn;t previously. I have never been into school about anything like this before but I feel like going in and expressing my concern. AIBU????

talk to the school, all you can do and let them know your not happy that no note was sent home about head injury,i pulled my son out of his school after he had his head stamped out and kicked in the face and they never called me.

You need to raise this with the school. There is little that can be done now about your ds incident other than an appology, but you may save someone elses little darling by making them raise their game.
