... an expensive toy isn't needed.

uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/family-parenting/educational-inappropriate-let-daughter-breastfeed-doll-article-ez4w.html

Not sure if i'll get slated for this but anyway i'll give it a shot Confused Both my daughter and son (might i add) booby fed their babies, teddies etc and there was never any need for a fancy expensive toy, just the old fashioned hitching up of the top.

So i wonder aibu to think that even though the idea is a well intentioned one it may be slightly unnecessary??

PS I just want to add I'm pro choice on this subject and that i exclusively booby fed my dd and did both booby and formula with ds.

We had this argument last week here.

HolyNetmumsBatman · 30/03/2011 23:26

Most toys are unnecessary and this one no more than any other.

chicletteeth · 30/03/2011 23:27

You could argue that most expensive toys are't needed! Why single out this one?
How much does something like tiny tears or any other dolly with a bottle cost (have three boys so not well-versed with costs of dolls!)?

cunexttuesonline · 30/03/2011 23:27

yabu to repeatedly write 'booby'

StrawberryTot · 30/03/2011 23:28

oops sorry i didn't realise. i'm kind of a dippy member not on often so miss a fair bit of what happens.

Flisspaps · 30/03/2011 23:28

Booby? Do you mean breastfeeding?

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/03/2011 23:29

'booby feeding'? WTF? How old are you?

Mumbybumby · 30/03/2011 23:29

DD is more than happy to animate her play with her own noises. Caught her trying to use my breast pump the other day, only she was fully clothed, bless her!
Am a little shocked by some of the comments underneath eg AdamL's comment about 'slags'! I mean, wtf?!

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 30/03/2011 23:30

Don't worry, I do things like that all the time...at least you can have a preview of what this thread will turn into Wink

StrawberryTot · 30/03/2011 23:31

wanksock yes i thought that but then thought oh well its what we use in this house and breast just wouldn't sound like me, not that anyone knows me Grin

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky yeah thanks for the preview Shock
BecauseImWorthIt 25 honey and also Flisspaps i just want to add that we use the word booby as my dd couldn't pronounce breast when she was tiny and its kind of stuck but now worries i will inform her in the morning that it is breast from now on.

StrawberryTot · 30/03/2011 23:37

awww damn it that silly bold.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 30/03/2011 23:40

Strawberry I don't think you need to stop using "booby feeding" with your dd at all (unless she's 16 now :o), I think all the other posters were pointing out was that it sounds funny on an adult forum.

ShowOfHands · 30/03/2011 23:45

Yes, I call dd SquigsyBobsyJoe but on here she's dd. And similarly, I don't go round offering to wipe other MNer's bottoms. Different arenas, different language/behaviour.

We're adults, we can say breast.

Don't worry about it. Now go and type out 'breastfeeding' 100 times and don't come back until you've finished.

StrawberryTot · 30/03/2011 23:46

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky i can confirm without a doubt that the dd isn't 16 Grin
