Fairies and elves. After all opposites attract.

Although he's a doctor, teacher, academic, Nanny Plum is much wittier and fun loving for him.

It'd probably never last.

But man, wouldn't it be passionate!!

OP posts:
JoyceBarnaby · 31/03/2011 10:39

Do you think he'd blow his horn at the end? Because he's an elf - toot toot!!

lollystix · 31/03/2011 13:54

Unfortunately cos I have 3 very little ones I find it hard to find the time to manage the ball bit at the top but I do have the same bob and fringe. I love nanny plum - she kicks ass....

JoyceBarnaby · 31/03/2011 19:36

I'm sure once they have grown up a bit you'll have the time to develop that unique hairstyle!! Then maybe you, too, can bag yourself an elderly man who dresses up as a squirrel or a pirate to rescue you from things of unimaginable horror.

Cookie79 · 31/03/2011 19:41

I think they had a mad passionate fling many years ago and never got over it......

IHeartKingThistle · 31/03/2011 19:58

I think you've got it, cookie!

That little smile in the elf toy factory when she blows the trumpet and says "I'm an elf" - very out of character, that. Perhaps she dreams about what it would have been like to marry him...

MummyElk · 31/03/2011 20:05

i just read this thread title out to DH, and DD1 (who is sat next to me on the sofa and Should Be In Bed Hmm) said "no Mummy they already have" (she's 3yo)
Further questioning has revealed that yes, she thinks they already have had a cuddle but that it was NOT True Love's Kiss....

JustaNickname · 31/03/2011 21:25

:o at this entire thread.

Alibobster · 31/03/2011 21:28

I love Nanny Plum, she is very witty. I can imagine something between her and King Thistle but not the Wise Old Elf, I think he gets on her nerves

IHeartKingThistle · 31/03/2011 21:30

King Thistle would NEVER cheat on the Queen!

Alibobster · 31/03/2011 21:31

i don't know IHeartKT, I think he's a randy old thing

droves · 31/03/2011 21:43

Its Gaston the ladybug , im concerned about .

lollystix · 31/03/2011 21:46

What's wrong with gaston? He's cute - no?

ElBandito · 31/03/2011 21:49

They had a thing years ago but it didn't work out. Elves age faster than fairies you see and as the age gap got bigger their affair fizzled out.

That's why Nanny Plum doesn't like Ben and Holly playing together too much, she knows that there's heart break ahead.

droves · 31/03/2011 21:51

Hes cute , but his house is a mess and why does a grown ladybug want to hang around kids all day ?

I think its all part of a plan to gain access to the fairy castle.
I bet hes in cahoots with that pirate , who nodoubt has plans to make off with the king and queens crowns (as well as nanny plum)

lollystix · 31/03/2011 21:55

Wow- I think you overestimate Gaston's intelligence. I likened him to a faithful old Labrador really-never suspected he could be so cunning - I shall keep an eye on him in future.

MerryMarigold · 31/03/2011 22:01

This thread has had me laughing more than any other tonight on MN. THANKYOU!

lollystix, the ball on top of your head. Is it true?

But back to the OP. I have always thought there is SERIOUS sexual tension between NP and WOE. Age does not matter whatsoever. There is a 'frisson' that cannot be denied. It's all much more intellectual than physical, but I am also waiting for that post watershed episode. Maybe they could do it for Comic Relief? It would be an absolute classic.

droves · 31/03/2011 22:03

Ive a hunch that Gaston is infact a criminal mastermind, hes just lulling them all into a false sense of security .
The fact he can fly , but doesnt do it often is a sure sign hes hiding his abilities. Why else would he act so dumb?.

MerryMarigold · 31/03/2011 22:06

(Ps. I missed the pirate episode Sad).

I also want to see the return of 'Big Bad Barry' in this epic, apocalyptic episode with the 'return of the pirate' who kidnaps Nanny Plum (with Gaston's insider info). The WOE plays aged but sexy detective who manages to get Nanny Plum back. There's a load more tension but NOTHING EVER HAPPENS (thing 'Remains of the Day'). Ooooh, we could make it a whole movie.

droves · 31/03/2011 22:07

I dread the day Wise old elf asks Nanny Plum to blow his horn.
Or if he starts to jiggle his "Plums".

Hes just a dirty old elf deep down.

lollystix · 31/03/2011 22:15

Seriously I sense that the woe is quite sexually repressed. He so wants nanny but if she conceded he'd run a mile.

Don't even mention big bad Barry. Ds1 makes me play the big bad Barry game on a regular basis. I have to catch him with a dressing gown cord abd then fry him or bake him on the bed before my and ds2 then eat him for tea.

MerryMarigold · 31/03/2011 22:25

Oooh that sounds like a fun game...ds1 hasn't thought of that, but he loves being 'eaten'.

I agree with the WOE being repressed Grin.

lollystix · 31/03/2011 22:29

I'd advise against suggesting it to him- there are only so many ways you can cook a fish- bake, fry, grill with lemon, parsley, ketchup, salt, potatoes. We've done it all but maybe your culinary imagination may extend further than mine.

MerryMarigold · 31/03/2011 22:37

Chop him up in fish pie? Put mash on top. Pack him in a tin like Tuna?

Sidge · 31/03/2011 22:38

I bloody love Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom.

I nearly fell off my chair laughing at Big Bad Barry and the Mutiny on the Bunty.

DH and I found ourselves watching it for ages after the children had left the room... Hmm

MalkieFraser · 31/03/2011 22:39

My DD calls her privates her Nanny Plum. She's almost 3. I may have instigated that. Not particularly relevant, just saying. Um, carry on.
