last week i brought my 4 year old DS 9 kinder eggs.
I said he could have one each time he ate a decent meal (Fussy eater)
Unfortunately the last 2 kinder eggs were calling me and i could not resist so i ate them. Blush
Now i just feel bloody awful, and its not the first time i have done it.
Its not like he ever notices but i still feel like crap.

I love Kinder eggs.

MavisEnderby · 29/03/2011 23:23

Emergency chocolate is allowed. You can always buy him some more tommorow

PenguinArmy · 29/03/2011 23:25

YANBU,

but don't do it if you know you'll feel awful about it

benelf · 29/03/2011 23:25

I think you're alright as long as you don't eat the toy.

Isthreetoomany · 29/03/2011 23:25

As long as he doesn't find out I YANBU - just replace them asap

readywithwellies · 29/03/2011 23:27

Why buy Kinder eggs?? YABU to buy them in the first place, nasty little pieces of shite inside. However, Kinder sticks, now you are talking!!!

DontGoCurly · 29/03/2011 23:29

I love those shitty little toys inside! Something to distract you as you absent mindedly shove the choc choc down

kreecherlivesupstairs · 30/03/2011 08:08

YABVVVU to eat kinder chocolate. It always tastes a bit faecal to me. You should buy yourself some decent stuff. Even DD turns kinder down.

cambridgeferret · 30/03/2011 09:21

Kinder chocolate tastes pretty rank!! The toys are also crap.

Buy him a Galaxy egg (anyone else find Creme eggs too sweet?)

crappymummum · 30/03/2011 09:24

YANBU! i recently bought 3x3 packs as they were on offer.I ended up eating most of them! I let DD have the toys though Blush

Skifit · 30/03/2011 09:25

Littlemuckypups...Shame on you ......joke Wink (I love Cadburys cream eggs, but not Kinder egss)
You enjoyed them ,, so stop feeling quilty... you can always buy some more.
However, if you feel like crap because you dont want to put on weight,, then be strong and avoid naughty sweet treats !! Wink
Hide them somewhere like the garden shed etc.

clayre · 30/03/2011 09:28

My ds hates kinder egg chocolate so he always gives me the chocolate and he keeps the toy, I'm happy with that compromise!

MissJelly · 30/03/2011 09:43

Oh dear, a lot of us have been here!! Me included!!

You feel bad, because you 'know' it was not right. If he had taken your treats and eaten them, would you tell him off?

If he does know about it, you have to apologise.

However, there is a way to get out of this, if he doesn't know about it. Buy some more.

When you go to the shop, buy some treats for yourself too! Now, when YOU eat all your dinner, you can have a treat with your child, then you can be excited together. He will see this and it will be a positive thing for both of you :)

If you are dieting, treats are still important, but have you considered getting your little one to exercise with you? A walk before dinner/lunch time builds appetite, even if only for 10 minutes round the block. Then you can have your treat and feel good about yourself.

Life is a continual learning process and having children helps us continue to improve our own characters, and, eat more treats :)

pingu2209 · 30/03/2011 09:49

The amount of times I have eaten my dc haribo sweets and had to buy more to replace them is uncountable.

shmoz · 30/03/2011 09:49

YADNBU, clearly you were only thinking of preventing dental fillings for him. You are a v v caring and thoughtful mum Grin

littlemuckypups · 30/03/2011 11:11

Yes thats a good excuse shmoz it was for his own good lol! Grin

YANBU to eat it - but make sure the same thing does not happen to you as happened to me: one year I ate all the Easter chocolate and when I went to replace it, there wasn't anything suitable left in the shop!

HeidiKat · 01/04/2011 11:31

YANBU, my 4 month old DD has a chocolate buttons easter egg from great granny, in theory I could keep it a few months until she is old enough to have a taste of chocolate but I suspect it won't last past my next pre menstrual sugar craving Grin.
