well i was 21 when i had DD1 and 23 DD2. I have no idea how they've managed to get so old. it's like a freakish time warp thing. weird

If it helps my mum was your REAL age when she became a gran!

My mother had a strop when I turned 16, she was 34 at the time.

You are too young, but that is because you were just a child yourself when you had your eldest.

Soon your own kids be having children and you be a grand mother, it naturally follows, my sister had her first when she was 17. My niece had hers at 19.

Far too young in my opinion. It's like you can't teach your children safe sex at a young age as you didn't adhere to it yourself.

It runs in my family for 3 generations but in all honesty it has not permanently held any of us back in the long term and I for one am glad that when DS is old enough to look after himself (sort of), I will still be young enough to go on and live my life.

My great gran had my gran at 17, my gran had my mum at 17 and my mum had me at 17 I had my DS at 19. It's no big deal, sometimes I wish that I would have waited but 99% of the time I am happy with the choice we made!

AYC we are roughly the same age and our dcs are too. Dont look at things negatively, they are teenagers. Babyhood is over, and they are just starting to become interesting. I cant wait for boyfriends, girlfriends, broken hearts and all that jazz! We get to be grannies without having grey hair and tweed slippers. And, if we decide to have more babies, we have built in baby sitters!

Ah - enjoy it! My son will be eleven in August and I am 21 33. Nice to still feel young when the kids are grown up enough to be left to play til dusk outside with mates not need constant supervision.

I am hoping for child number two desperately a bit, but if it doesn't happen, I feel blessed with my much loved accident surprise baby!
