Its every time Angry. Does anyone else get this? I'm using over the counter remedies (cream/oral tablet) but don't feel comfortable using them this foten really. I went to see the dr about it 6 months ago who just said to keep using them though Hmm.

Should I be worried?

Haven’t read all replies so mine may have been covered - used to get this all the time using tampons. Realised it was using them as my flow got lighter was the problem - tmi but I think as the tampon was drier going in and out, it irritates so used tampons for heavy flow days and towels towards the end of my period.

A low carb diet is a good idea, as the candida fungus lives on sugar and carbs are turned into sugar in our bodies. If you also switch from fruits to vegetables and use sweetener instead of sugar in your tea, the thrush won't have anything to live on. It worked for me.

I used to suffer really badly even had to use anaesthetic numbing gel until a pharmacist told me to take probiotic tablets and it worked rarely ever suffer now got to be worth a go!! x

Ah man! I had this for years as I got a yeast infection whilst preggo and couldn’t shake it, I’d just about get rid every month and then back it would come.

Your gp should test for diabetes.
Mine prescribed me a massive course of those flucozanole tablets - like 6 months and as long as I don’t use tampons and am careful with which pads I use it’s ok. I cannot go near an always pad without horrendousness occurring. Bodyform are ok!

Hope that helps

Yes! I used to get this after my period. Every time. I assumed it was maybe tampons upsetting the Ph balance or something... since having a baby i haven’t suffered with it since.

I know you said you weren't keen. But I had the same problem thrush every month after my period.. I changed to a mooncup and have only had thrush once in 8 years and that was related to antibiotics. Might be worth trying to get over the ick factor.

I get it every single month just before My period and it drives me insane! I have canesten pessaries on a repeat prescription. My GP’s have been pretty useless aswell, just said to get checked for Sti’s (of which I have none!) and carry on with the pessaries and basically just live with it! :(
