..without it turning into a slalom style race to dodge the chatting pensioners....

Thursday afternoon, 3pm-4pm is women only swimming..

By 2.45 the queue is snaking around the outside of the building as they clutch their free passes, and flowery swimming hats..

By 3.01pm they are edging gently into the pool, moaning loudly about how cold the water is.. (it was a lovely 29 degrees today according to the digital display above the bored looking lifeguard)..

Not a one of them swims a length, they all stand in the water chatting, doing an occasional slow width, still chatting as the one or two swimmers try to do lengths around them.

Now I am all for the womens only sessions, it means no hairy old men swimming under you, "accidentally copping a feel as they surface" Hmm, no screeching kids dive bombing, and no courting couples swapping chlorine filled kisses.. but ffs ladies, swim will ya, it might warm you up!!!!

It didnt exactly thrill me to overhear two of them discussing her leaky bladder and the price of tena lady as I swam by them today either Confused...

Rant over... as you were.. Grin
