AIBU to think that calling someone over-educated isn't really an insult

and if it is, that it's a rubbish insult, considering this remark was made in relation to Piers Morgan, who's just ripe for insulting. There's so much else you could use: puffy faced, wet, ham faced, Hameron-look alike - why go to over-educated?

Maybe there's something I'm missing, but how is being very educated an insult?

well it depends whether it means, very educated, or educated to a level beyond his intelligence

OK, so babies are born knowing when they are in pain/hungry/uncomfortable/frightened/secure etc. So that's the start of it. Then you go on to learn all sorts of things throughout life. Not one person on this planet will learn beyond their capabilities or learn everyhting there is to know about life. So how these people are 'over-educated' is a load of cack and beyond me.

there's a difference between having learned and having been educated though

In the case of Morgan, 'over-exposed' would fit better than 'over-educated'. He's never struck me as excessively intellectual.
