to cancel DS's nursery place for a week then restart it a week later to save money?

I know it's not the done thing, I know I'll look like a cheapskate, I know they will be pissed off with me, but it's a saving of £75. (2.5 days is £100 but I'd have to pay another admin fee of £25 I assume)

Would you do this?

Will they allow you to? They may have a waiting list for places and if you give up yours, you might end up losing it. Worth the risk?

er you could try
but they another child may fill his place
you might end up at the bottom of the waiting list

Eric is MINE btw! Wink

Be careful by cancelling for a week you might also loose your place.

Nearly all nurseries have waiting lists so as soon as you cancel they will likely offer the place to someone else and then when you go back to join up again it will be gone!
I wouldnt risk it!
It would piss them off a lot. Even if they did still have the space, they would prob ask you to pay the missed weeks fees anyway as a goodwill gesture to indicate that you are serious about not messing them about going forward. They wouldnt want someone holding a space who was likely to cancel every few weeks at short notice and then join again.

Yeah I guess you're right. For £75 it's not really worth the aggro. I was thinking it would be more when I thought of it, then remembered he has one day in another nursery and I'm dropping half a day by then so rather than £140ish it's only £75.

Thanks for the reality check!
