Have has a few recently that dont look like they have been left school long.

One knocked yesterday and looked so miserable and all I could help thinking was 'why is this boy doing this job?'. He looked about 16 and I really felt sorry for him.

I know its good that he has some determination and isnt on benefits, but those kind of jobs are much worse paywise.

I've noticed some very young lads selling door to door recently. I answered the door yesterday to someone trying to sell double glazing. He really did look about 14 (I'm sure he was 16!). I did try to be kind when I told him he was wasting his time.

As much as I would hate to do that sort of job, it is great in terms of experience for young people just starting out in the job world.

They gain excellent customer service skills and because of this future employers like to hire them.

I've known quite a few people who did door to door sales when leaving school (I worked in the dreaded mcd's) and none of us had problems moving onto better jobs eventually because we all had experience in customer service.

So you may feel Sad for them but just think of it as him gaining his experience to move onto bigger and better things.
