Have just fiinished washing back door curtains as stinking of cat pee.
It is an unspeyed female and it is often deposited in the shared back garden. There are lots of cats (all neutered/ speyed) who mostly get on and have established terratories (sp?). But when this one is about the place stinks. Our shed, back door, play house has been sprayed.
Other neighbour reports cat pee in their kitchen and is blaming their cat. I am not so sure. There is a slim possibility it is but no problems with lapsed house training before with my cats or theirs.
Either way the cause is this rogue cat.

give it six laceholes up its arse Shoo it gently away next time you see it Grin

anonymosity · 23/03/2011 02:47

Give the neighbour a pamphlet on neutering / spaying cats.

coccyx · 23/03/2011 04:03

why attack the animal, would make more sense to attack the owner surely

kreecherlivesupstairs · 23/03/2011 08:38

I think I'd be inclined to talk to the owner rather than kick the cat. OTOH, I have been known to thrown all sorts of veg at next doors lot. They have nine and when we first moved in, our garden was their toilet of choice. They don't do their solids in ours any more.

Birdsgottafly · 23/03/2011 09:46

Because she has not been spayed a male will be spraying to claim her as his. Even if a male has been neutered they may still do this. Unless you are going to make the cat 'disappear' then it will not matter if she is put outside. The answer is to talk to your neighbour about spaying as the cat may go wandering when she comes into season and not come back or will be coming home pregnant. There is help available towards the cost if money is an issue.

If the cat is in your house then yanbu to remove it. I have heard that squirting a water pistol at them is a good deterrent.

Hmmm, really smelly wee and sprucing is a male cat thing but your neighbours are attracting him to the garden by not spaying their female cat.

As the owner of two cats (one spayed, one neutered) YANBU to be annoyed.I really don't think it's fair to allow non neutered/spayed animals to roam freely. It causes so many problems and there are quite enough unwanted animals in need of homes as it is!

Anyhoo, as a cat owner I would not be annoyed if someone sprayed my cat with water if it was being a nuisance, arm yourself with a water pistol and enjoy the sunshine in tbd hope she'll stroll by...

Oh and tell your neighbours that the PDSA will neuter and spay for free.

MissVerinder · 23/03/2011 10:05

catnap it and take it to PDSA......

How illegal/unethical would that actually be?

poochela · 23/03/2011 21:16

invest in a super soaker.

TeeBee · 23/03/2011 21:19

God, I chase my neighbours cat with a hose! Bloody thing craps in my veg beds, which means they just can't be used.

crystalglasses · 23/03/2011 21:20

I second Poochela's suggestion of a super soaker. we bought one to deter cats in our garden and it really worked. You've got to have it ready and waiting for the cat.

purplepidjin · 23/03/2011 21:26

Supersoaker? Dump a bucket of water on it's head! Dp also has a mean aim with a wet washing up sponge Grin
