She had to be dragged to the hospital to see my first born,we are just not close at all and she makes no effort with me or gc,so what should I do?,im worried it would be awkward.

Shall I Take my Best Friend instead and have a day of it with her,or ask Dad to come instead as im closer to him?.

One of my closest friends isn't close to her mum, she asked me to go with her to get her wedding dress. I have to say I was so honoured and it reduced me to tears when we both agreed on 'the dress'! She looked beautiful Smile

I did tell her I would tell her the absolute truth and she wasn't to be offended, she came out of the changing room in some monsters, but when we both cried at one, we knew!

I'd take your friend, it won't be the same if you your miserable when your looking, as it can be hard work!

Enjoy!

PS I make it sound like I had to agree to the dress she chose, I didn't she just valued my opinion!

I went on my own. It's not that I'm not close to my Mum, but I always shop on my own and trusted my own instincts.

My sister was my bridesmaid and she and I had a fun time choosing her dress.

I went by myself...not intentionally but was walking past when a sale was on, saw a bargain and bought it there and then.... Mind you, I wasn't really bothered what I wore and resented spending lots on something I would only wear once so never really saw buying the dress as a big thing - I am probably not the best person to advise!
