Just talking to MIL today. She asked what I was doing this weekend, I said going to restaurant in Cheltenham on Friday with DP and DD, and going for a curry Saturday with some friends.

She thinks I am extravagant because I usually do not cook Fridays and Saturday as a rule, 9 times out of 10 eat out or get takeaway.

I love my MIL so don't see any real criticism, but she said that eating out should be a treat or a special occasion. I just do it because I can't be arsed to cook.

We used to eat out a couple of times a week growing up, and DH and I used to do the same until dd came along. When she is a bit bigger and we have more cash I suspect we'll go out more.

My parents and mil are out all the time!

me and my 2 girls (3.5yrs and 18months) go out for lunch at least twice a week, its nice to just sit, eat and talk with them. when we go to the mallorca house we eat out everyday, both girls are impeccibly well behaved when we go out, and they are also open to all new types of food, fishfinger brigade, we are not!! (helps that daddy is a proffesional chef!!)
