That your child will live if it eats... a fruit shoot, chicken nuggets and has lucky charms for breakfast.

Yes but for how long? And with what quality of life?

Luckily for many, children will live eating only maize gruel too (sad fact of life in some very poor countries in times of drought etc) - doesn't mean that they will grow up to be long lived healthy adults, which is what I'm aiming for with my kids (rather than an easy option that won't kill them just this minute).

Oh is this a light hearted thread? Shock

whatsallthehullaballoo · 16/03/2011 16:09
Shock

[squares up to niceguy2]

What an evil attitude to have, there is no excuse talkingnonsense

lostinwales · 16/03/2011 16:13

I absolutely adore a forum where we can call all and sundry twats but the use of the r word is (very very rightly) frowned upon, THAT is how the world should be. Twats.

I see your lucky charms and raise you oven chips.

BackToBasics · 16/03/2011 16:28

I've not had lucky charms but always wanted to try them. A shop in town that sells all Americain food/sweets sells them for £10 a boxShock

Desperateforthinnerthighs · 16/03/2011 16:30

I remember Lucky Charms from the 90's - they were scrummy. I need to hide - my DS eats all these dreadful things (but he does have good stuff too)

Mouseface · 16/03/2011 16:43

No, no no, you can't see Lucky Charms and raise oven chips, they are FAR too healthy! Grin

How about deep fat frier chips?

lostinwales · 16/03/2011 17:03

How about oven chips cooked in a deep fat fryer! (I did read oven chips being called the work of the devil the other day, I was horrified, the Aunt Bessies ones are amazing)

Mandy2003 · 16/03/2011 17:23

Raise you - deep fried chips partially pre-masticated by the parent before giving it to infant!

Mouseface · 16/03/2011 17:24

Grin lostinwales and you spelt fryer correctly too!

We have McCains oven chips, only 5% fat you know. Once a month max. A bag lasts us aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. Grin

ambarth · 16/03/2011 17:31

They will live but will probably end up tubby.

AgentZigzag · 16/03/2011 17:36

Talkingnonsense doesn't have an evil attitude whatsallthehullaballoo, she was explaining the possible reason why niceguy2 was using that word.

She wasn't saying it was acceptable.

FWIW, I said I was monging out in an OP not that long ago, it didn't connect at all with me that it was associated with 'mong', it just meant we were relaxing.

That doesn't mean I have an evil attitude, I apologised for any offence and my apology was accepted.

Particles · 16/03/2011 17:48

I am a size 8 and was generally fed rubbish all the live long day as a child as were my brothers, neither of whom have weight problems. We all did very well at school too. Personally, I think the food police need sacking, they must have their figures wrong!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 16/03/2011 17:50

Agentzigzag, that is different, he talked about a child being a 'r'' in school' , perfectly clear what he meant, my DD for example, who has learning difficulties.

Becaroooo · 16/03/2011 17:55

Lucky charms sounds rather scrummy Smile

AgentZigzag · 16/03/2011 18:02

I was just talking about using the word and not knowing it wasn't acceptable fanjo.

I didn't see what he said exactly.

I thought he was a regular poster, or is that just niceguy and niceguy2 is another poster?

If he's been on here a while I would have thought he'd know it's not on to use it, and if he did know then must be on the wind up?

particles it is entirely possible to wear size 8 jeans and have a terrible diet. size is not an indicator of a good diet.

SlainteBooyFeckingHoo · 16/03/2011 19:02

or good health.
