Ok, quick background, I have had a cough for 3 month including throwing up everynight and yesterday started extra antibiotics and steroids... I am also on my period and am getting big 'clots', dd (15 months) is still Breastfeeding and wakes 2-3 times a night...

Today I have been up since 7 and have eaten;

7:30 1 bowl shreddies with skimmed milk
12:30 I cheese and tomato sandwich and packet of McCoys crisps, 1 mini trifle
4:00 1 greggs bean sausage bake, 1 doughnut, half banana
8:00 half carton soup with 2 thin slices of bread, half bit pita bread and small portion of pepper houmous

Tell it to me honestly, is this 'shed loads' am I eating obsessively like dh has just told me?

You went to a concert with wine? On a Wednesday? How very dare you? [shocked]

Tortington · 10/03/2011 00:44

she took it in a water bottle hidden in her bag

cheekeymonkey · 10/03/2011 00:45

All I have had today is 2tbls oatbran, 2 pieces of chicken and a piece of ham and oh 2 vodkas with diet coke (which have a far better effect when am practically starving myself every day since New Year)Winehic!

cheekeymonkey · 10/03/2011 00:48

How do you know that custardo, are you on security?

hairylights · 10/03/2011 09:37

It's a lot of calories and not very healthy.

LilyBolero · 10/03/2011 11:44

My god I'd hate to share my diet, I think its fine and also none of OH's business. My OH doesn't comment when I tuck into half a pack of biscuits every other day!

Ormirian · 10/03/2011 11:55

Might not be shedloads but it's not very healthy or balanced is it? Where's the green stuff or fruit?

pleasenap · 10/03/2011 12:16

I don't think that's shedloads.

At first look the 4pm 'snack' does look more like a mini-meal - but then when you consider that brekky was fairly wee and dinner was also fairly wee (soup and bread basically) then over the course of a day I don't think its that bad as far as quantities go. I don't think its even that bad health wise either - soup (veg in it I would imagine), humus (chickpeas), tomato in sarnie, bit of banana. Not all that bad - maybe carb heavy but that's what I'd be having too when I feel a bit bleargh.

Also, I think, like you do with the DC, you should consider it over the course of a few days rather than every day being a shiny example of the 'perfect' healthy eating plan.

My DH was incredulous when I admitted I had even 6 penguins choc biscuits in a row as a 'snack' recently. Grin - now I think that did deserve a bit of a DH Shock!

pleasenap · 10/03/2011 12:16

'eaten' not even!

RudeEnglishLady · 10/03/2011 12:35

Thats nowt...don't worry!

But - why not try eating a big breakfast with plenty of eggs or meat and some fruit. I'm BFing and a bit run down and I couldn't manage on cereal and skimmed milk. I also need a proper cooked lunch and some cake in the afternoon. I'll eat apples and chocolate intermittently as well. Then we'll have a big dinner with pudding but I won't snack after that. I'm pretty thin so I'm not thinking calories. More that I need my strength!

Actually thats probably bad advice as aren't you meant to eat more and smaller meals? So I think that you didn't eat too much but you could eat a bit more fruit and protein on top of that and feel a bit fuller for longer.

notremotelyintofootie · 10/03/2011 19:36

Well today I think i have been 'better'... I have eaten;

7:30 1 bowl shreddies and 2 slices of toast
11:00 1 2finger kit kat
1:00 bowl of soup (from yesterday), some strawberries, a pear and a dairy lea dunker (dd wouldn't eat it...)
2:30 2 pieces Ryvitta
5:15 home made cottage pie with mince and loads of lentils, baked beans and carrotts!

Problem now is I am craving chocolate!!

I had a bowl of sultana bran with milk for breakfast.
Then second breakfast of mcd's sausage and egg muffin and hash brown mid morning
crackers and cheese for lunch
pasta with chicken and peppers and cheese sauce for dinner, then a chocolate mousse
will prob have something else before bed too!

I am pregnant and keep eating to stop feeling sick!!

JennaTailor · 10/03/2011 20:13

Today I have had:

9am 3 Oatcakes and a large banana (really nice !!!)

11am 2 satsuma's

1pm Large bowl of salad with a little salad cream, 2 apples and some grapes

4pm 2 carrots

6pm Lots of veg (runner beans, broci, carrots and peas and 2 good quality sausages. No fat yogart.

The craving for choc soon goes (or get low cal hot chocolate if you are really desperate)
