I have seen a few people on here post that they do painy by numbers to relax them. Being in fucking awful pain Having a lot of time to fill I thought I'd buy one because I love painting but am no good.

A beautiful scene has arrived through the post and I've realised I'm screwed. It's really advanced. It's brought back memories of doing them as a child when they all looked like shit. There's a small person in it. On the cover he looks human. The numbers direct you just to fill him in in one colour. I don't have the skill to make him look any more than a blob.

I'm going to spend hours on it, aren't I and then have to throw it in the bin because it's rubbish?

Just to make you feel really guilty. Grin

I have 4 chairs and a table you can paint. Are you near London? If not you can stay in the spare room where you'll find a chest of drawers that needs doing too.

See how helpful I am? And I almost didn't laugh at your painting by numbers at all.

AgentZigzag · 09/03/2011 18:46

If you like painting, you could take out your trolling agression by doing a bit of paintballing?

I did it once, it was the worst hour of my life so far, they bloody hurt.

ohboob · 09/03/2011 19:04

Katie. I would do that happily, but not in London.
Agent, can you do paintballing in a wheelchair? And har de ha ha about the trolling agression Grin. Go make some jewelry or something.

schroeder · 09/03/2011 19:50

I think you should go paint balling-the idea of wheelchair paint balling might just catch on. It creates a special picture in my head anywayGrin

I find those mosaic colouring books very theraputic myself.Wink

Huffymuffy · 09/03/2011 19:55

Felt tips! Colouring in is very therapeutic, but I think you'd have to keep it secret tbh. Even if I did it myself which I do, I'd think you were a loon.

ohboob · 09/03/2011 20:11

Ha! It's all coming out now isn't it. For 'colouring in' should we read paint by numbers too. You do, don't you?

Shroeder I'm glad you have a special picture in your head. But I hope I'm not naked in it.

(Please ignore me. I am a bit pissed now.)

If you go wrong just call it a contemporary abstract piece, homage to Picasso/kandinsky/pollock (insert randomly for maximum impressiveness)
noone will dare critisise it then

schroeder · 09/03/2011 20:18

Eugh!Shock not that kind of special!

Well I had a delightful evening. It wasn't quite the gloopy fun I was hoping for because of course I'm painting small areas instead of a nice big bit of furniture that I could slosh paint onto. But I'm quite pleased with my results so far.

I feel quite arty and talented right now. Grin
