To get stressed out at the thought of driving a manual car

I passed my test in a manual caer, drove one for the first few years (although I always hated it) And have had an automatic ever since which I LOVE driving. It's time for a new car and DH thinks we should get a manual gearbox and the thought of it stresses me out! Does anyone else hate driving manual cars?

The only problem I had last Summer was having to stop quickly on the M4 and forgetting to put the clutch down so the engine stalled.

EEEEK!!! Grin

I drove an automatic only once because it was a courtesy car. It was like driving a dodgem Confused

I haven't driven a manual for 10 years (although my last car did have a tiptronic gear box that I never ever used Grin )

This week I have had to hire a car: £294 for the manual mondeo, £723 for the automatic. Tomorrow I shall mostly be crunching gears.

I am SO uncoordinated I felt so scared learning to drive in a manual so I switched to automatic and passed my test in an automatic.
I am now pretty poor and my cars often break down and when it comes to buying a new (new only to me!) car, I have a very limited choice which I hate. I wish I had passed my test in a manual for the choice, but I think I would still prefer an automatic to drive. When I have some more money maybe I will take some lessons and try and get a manual licence.
