Life is too short to deny yourself a treat you can afford

Do you know, Chipping, I might just adopt that as my life motto. I am always talking myself out of little things and buying cheaper alternatives that never live up and don't make me smile as much. No more!

OP - do it!

I love some of their shower gels, and Jo Malone, and Bliss too (my honeymoon hotel had Bliss toiletries)...all expensive but jeez if you can afford it why would it be unreasonable?! Incidentally fragrance has a really powerful ability to take us back in time to special moments...perfume from a wedding, mum's cakes baking...enjoy it!

Go for it. I also find the MB stuff lasts for ages, but even so, it takes me weeks of negotiation with myself to buy stuff.

Totally agree about smells being evocative - it's incredible how strong it is

Sign up on their website for emails. Every so often they give out discount codes, especially if you complete one of their surveys. When they do that, I always make sure I get a couple of their shower gels in. I've also had various 10% off codes from various places.

Oh, and I think they still have a shop at Bicester Village. Haven't been there for ages but last time I went they had loads of Seamoss.

DH loves the stuff but gets through a lot of it (they recommend using it with a sponge to make it last longer).

Dh and I both use some Korres shower gel that was in one of the hotels we stayed in on our honeymoon.

It's lovely and one of our few 'regular' treats. Usually it's about £8-9 bottle but they sometimes have it in TKMaxx for about £3 so I tend to buy in bulk when I see it at those prices! Might be worth looking out for some MB stuff in there...

DH was definitely in the 'what's wrong with imperial leather soap?' bloke brigade and had barely made the move to Imperial Leather shower gel at the time so it was a big surprise that a) he liked it, b) noticed a difference between it and his normal and c) was happy to buy it.

But it is nice to have nice memories when you pick it up and start the day in the shower. Also to have nice stuff that feels nice on your skin and smells nice through the day! win-win all round... Grin

my friend bought me a gorgeous clarins one as a present after DD was born, and i would love to get some more, but its £15!

but you know Molton Brown is crap though don't you?? Just look at the list of ingredients. Seriously it's all the same crappy chemicals they put into .99p supermarket own brand stuff.

treat yourself by all means but if I was going to spend that much money on a shower gel as a treat I'd be choosing something that didn't contain SLS & all the other cheapo nasty ingredients that Molton Brown use.

MB is a con - all about the packaging/marketing. There is nothing 'exclusive' or 'expensive' about the actual contents at all.
