This is not life shattering - just annoying and I just want to know how others would react.

Went to buy a TV from large high street electrical store (Curry's Grin) on Saturday. Was cheaper online but I work and thought it would be easier to go and get it rather than mess about trying to be in for the delivery man.

Checked it was in stock (they had 5 they said) and paid, waiting 20 mins until bloke came back and said v sorry but it isn't in stock after all Hmm. Offered to deliver it and I explained that was why I had come to the actual store - to purchase the actual item and take it home - today.

Bloke offered me a refund and he and the guy who sorted out the refund assured me (twice each) the money would go back onto my card there and then.

Came home ordered it online - have had email yesterday saying payment hasn't gone through as there isn't enough money in my account. Checked account and Currys haven't refunded the money. It says on their website that it takes 3-5 days and when I phoned they also told me it takes 3-5 days.

They tried to put me through to the store I tried to buy the TV from but couldn't get through - they asked me for my phone number and said they would email through and I would be phoned within 24 hours Shock.

Is it just me or do others think that this really is not good enough?!

Maybe I should email them this thread :D and suggest they have some gaps in their training.

Hate Currys too. Not really related but I bought a vacuum cleaner for £50 and paid cash. They wanted my name and address. I didn't want to give it as I'm an awkward bugger so they got the manager. They said they needed it for the sale and I know they don't, having been told previously by an insider. I told them as I wasn't buying a tv or similar so nothing for licensing my details weren't needed. Then they said it was for the guarantee. But the receipt is the guarantee isn't it? Well yes...but what if you lose the receipt? I won't. You might. I won't but if I do then I'll suffer the loss. So then he shouts out in front of everyone, dont come whinging to me when you want it replacing the, you don't deserve to get it fixed.

The same store previously had let me carry a microwave out to the car when very heavily pg and when I asked if they could help they told me no in case they injured themselves. Currys/PC World and Dixons are staffed by tossers.

If it makes you feel any better, when I bought a TV from Currys, the delivery driver whipped out his todger and showed it to me. Shock

It was not a pleasent experience and it took me WEEKS to make them refund my delivery costs!

Always buy electronics online, there's no need for middle men anymore.

WHY DO PEOPLE BUY ANYTHING AT ALL FROM CURRYS?

this is an extraordinary thread Shock
I don't think I'd even buy a light bulb there now
flippin' flip

I don't go in Currys. I tried to spend quite a lot of money a few years ago (fitting out while house in one go) and the staff avoided me. I think it's cos I was in DIY clothes! So I went next door & spent in Comet.
