I can't do links but it is on this is money or google can liz jones survive a week on benefits.
Surely she can't be for real ? My jaw is still dropped a day after reading ,I have never liked her but this is taking the biscuit. I half feel sorry for her because she willnever be happy and I really do think she needs help and half of me wants to find her and give her a god slap .
And how can someone be paid so much to write such utter crap ?

She's a dick but I wouldn't expect anything else from someone who works for such a vile paper

NorthernGobshite · 10/03/2011 20:04

She's a very unpleasant person.

Mandy2003 · 10/03/2011 20:24

She is disordered in so many ways! I would have thought that the editors of the paper she writes for might have pointed out by now that she should lay off a bit 'cos she's in danger of alienating readers non?

But to go back to the original living on benefits article, yes you can try this yourself: keep to the amount that the Govt. via JSA assumes you can spend on food each week. First couple of weeks works fine, then you need household stuff, even a cheap shampoo. Starts to get worrying. Then there's a utility bill...

I'd love to find out it wasn't Jim Kerr she writes about dating, but in the absence of any further rumour evidence I suppose I can believe. I've always suspected that she and her animal carer may be an item Wink

But I wouldn't envy her elderly rheumatic BMW 7 series Hmm

SpookyBaby · 11/03/2011 06:06

Bloody hell. The state of her.

It'd suit her better to spend a bit of money on a facelift.

For someone with all that money she's in bits Shock

Becaroooo · 11/03/2011 09:18

£8.95 for toothpaste (???)

There was me thinking I was swanky buying colgate pro namel!!! Smile

Honeybee79 · 11/03/2011 09:23

Liz Jones: silly bint and totally shite, lazy journalism. The problem is she seems to think that everything is all about her. The rest of us stopped caring a number of years ago. It would be nice if she could remove herself from the centre of everything single thing she writes.

Becaroooo · 11/03/2011 09:27

I look better than her and I mistakenly used foot cream on my face for days before I realised I smelt like menthol Blush

(didnt have my glasses on when rooting around the drawer!!)

UnquietDad · 11/03/2011 09:28

That article of hers on Dutch women is just unbelievably awful! I loved the fact that one of the women she interviewed pops up in the Comments to point out that she has been totally misquoted and misrepresented!

teenyweenytadpole · 11/03/2011 09:31

That's a really old article by the way....

Becaroooo · 11/03/2011 09:32

...UQD and that article about Jo Yeates? Truly dreadful...she still made that poor girls murder about her. sigh.

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 11/03/2011 09:41

Hideous woman so YANBU to want to slap her. Repeatedly.

< joins the back of what appears to be a very long queue >

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 11/03/2011 09:45

That's a really old article by the way....

I know - 2009 or something? Which just means that she now looks 2 years older and more bitter. I could forgive her if she was a decent journalist, but she wouldn't look out of place writing for the local rag.

Heebiejeebie · 11/03/2011 10:12

Can you all stop criticising her for the way she looks or the terrible crime of showing her age? Surely there's plenty of other things to complain about first.

Mrswhiskerson · 11/03/2011 11:04

I think the criticism for yer looks comes from the fact she is such a vile human who regularly criticises other people for lack of money /intelligence/looks . She claims to spend eight hundred pounds on her beauty regime knowing she is sinking further and further into debt and th fact she regularly drives past an old lady carrying a large amount of shopping means and looks down on anyone who has a normal job with a normal salary , I don't think her looks are due to old age I hink it's her mean spirit showing on her face . I know people with lined faces who are beautiful because they are beautiful and happy on the inside and it shines through .

It's just so depressing that women are judged on their looks rather than actions. It devalues the other criticism.
'She's a terrible journalist and a selfish person'
'yeah, AND she's ugly and looks old'.
I don't suppose a similar thread about Richard Littlejohn would focus on his physical attractiveness or need for plastic surgery.

Cazza72 · 11/03/2011 13:43

have just discovered that she went to my school. The mortification!

kittybuttoon · 11/03/2011 13:51

I think the criticism of her looks is justified in this case, because she writes a lot about how gorgeous and attractive she is, and tells people how much she spends keeping up this fantasy.

The editor (who really must adore her!) adorns the page with photos which directly contradict what the writer is saying. Nice touch, Ed.

If Richard Littlejohn did the same, I expect people would feel justified in expressing an opinion about the results, as shown in the pictures next to the article.

I am a feminist, btw. I don't believe we should be judged on appearances - but this woman and her paper are actively inviting us to compare and contrast.
