He's 7 and he's been sent to his room for not settling to anything all day, being a total pita. I've informed him if he doesn't amuse himself without bugging tomorrow there will be no ds all week.

I 'm quite strict re ds time and apparently I'm too strict to be a mummy as all the other mummies let their dc have ds and tv time whenever they want.

I know I have to stick to boundaries which I do and by the teenage years this will be small fry but reassure me please.

Other kids do say things like this don't they?????

My little girl (5) announced that she was going to run away the other day.
When I asked where she was going to, she said Spain!!!
Ah well she is very like me, and I always think I was meant for sunnier climes!

When DS was 4yo he told me 'I hate this house and don't want to live here anymore'. (it was me who wouldn't give him another biscuit Hmm)

I replied 'maybe it doesn't like you either, screaming at it, shall we ask it?' Grin

DS astounded face had me laughing and then him.
