beacause frankly i can't be rsed buyiing things she doesn't want to wear, and the hassle of tryign to get her to put soomething on she doesn't like.

i let her pick her clothes from the boden catalogue, the next website, and matalan and tescos

I've done this with my boys since they were a similar age - if they've needed something new then they've had the choice (within reason & budget) - it started with the choice of an item from a selection I found and now they are bigger they get told the amount they can spend and they choose - if they want to go over budget they pay the difference.

onetoomany - I wouldn't say that I pander to my DS's and they definatley don't get everything they want i'd be broke Grin

If they need something new we will go for that specific item/items and will say that we have x amount to spend.

We do most of our clothes shopping online and dd1 only knows our regular shops, which are all fairly cheap. SHe is also given a set amount she has to spend.

Unfortunately she has recently discovered Google so will Google for items we might not be able to afford, but no means no, she knows when to quit.
