I have lurked and posted on an off for over five years, but recently noticed a few things about the 'zeitgeist' of MN, without getting all serious and judgey pants, lets have laff and describe a typical MNetter, for example:

Boden? (just dont get this is this right or wrong?) Hmm
Saggy 'norks'? Blush

And possibly what they are not....

No brown leather sofa (supposedly laughed at this on confession thread recently)
No fruitshoots

Hmm probable easier to do a UNMNetter!

JUST FOR LAFFS Grin

I'm a type A in that case (I've banned processed foods, hate Greggs and Fruit Shoots and despise UKIP and other pretend political parties). Oh and I vote Tory.

My mother has some beautiful chesterfields, I've got dibs in the will.

BitOfFun · 04/03/2011 12:02

I'm a cheerful socialist who buys children's Boden in the sale with a discount code. And my tits are fantastic.

So where's yer theory now, eh?

CountBapula · 04/03/2011 12:09

I have a brown leather sofa, but it's 1960s/1970s vintage, like much of the furniture in my house [smug]

I love Greggs sausage rolls. I did, however, discover the other day that it is not a good idea to eat one while carrying a baby in a sling Blush

Buy Mini Boden on ebay for ChaoticBoy.

Girls have Joules and H&M/George.

Shop at Waitrose/Lidl, John Lewis/Home Bargains.

I have no strong opinions on anything - am very flaky.

MN is too diverse to have a definitive MN/unMN list.

Alopogies.

Home Bargains is the Mecca of the North, isn't it? Marvellous place.

JemimaMop · 04/03/2011 13:19

I wear Boden and Monsoon
DC wear Boden and Joules
We have lots of books
R4 is on most of the time
We don't watch very much TV
I read broadsheets and shudder at the DM
I shop at farm shops and farmers markets
I cook from scratch
When the DC were small I BF, did BLW and they wore cloth nappies

However I do have a brown leather sofa and I don't shop in Waitrose as the nearest one is a 2hr drive away!

ShowOfHands · 04/03/2011 13:21

All of this is frippery.

The ideal/best MNer is funny, can laugh at herself, knows when to be kind and when to tell you to wind your neck in, learns something from being here and offers something in return.

And she has fabulous norks.

ShowOfHands · 04/03/2011 13:22

See and study flight, bof, lulu, chaos et al for evidence of this.

Oh looky, I've turned it into one of those threads...

Oh dear, I am a Boden-wearing angry socialist.

Ethelina I also love my MiL much more than any of my mad family. (My MiL treats me like the Madonna because I produced her only GC.)

1 white sofa bought BC (Before Child)
1 brown cloth-covered sofa from IKEA bought AC
