We were in the bank today and my ds offered a crisp to the baby behind us. I told him that he might not be allowed it thinking he was too young and he should ask his mummy. I then looked down and saw this baby (under 1) was holding a mcdonalds wrapper. I assumed that it was just for him to play with but then the mum said to ds "oh he's probably full up he's just had mcdonalds" Hmm
I think she saw the look on my face when she said that as she gave me a very funny look!

Please tell me I anbu and that it's not just me being odd about it!

I am constantly horrified by the sheer judginess of some people! Why does anybody care so much?

twinkytonk · 02/03/2011 20:09

Thanks I'll take the Wine I obviously need to chill out about it. I'll take no notice next time and not give it a second thought [simle]

Is this a real thread? Really?

twinkytonk · 02/03/2011 20:12

Yes!! I honestly wanted to know if I was being unreasonable to be shocked about it!

The first food my ds ever ate was from McD's. He was 6 months and reached out to get a seed off my burger bun.
mind you he would get the whole burger a few hours later ....

Yanbu..if you are a perfect parent in every respect

IAmTheCookieMonster · 02/03/2011 20:16

my baby has been to mcdonalds and sat in a high chair and ate a WHOLE..... bag of apple and grapes!

breatheslowly · 02/03/2011 20:17

I've met babies that were over 1 but looked much younger - perhaps it was just small for age.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 02/03/2011 20:17

Twinky well I supposed YANBU to be momentarily (sp) taken aback by it. But YABU to give it a second thought really. Its food not crack. Mum may have been caught short without any organic raisens and popped into MCDs for lunch.

It really doenst matter you know.

Do you realise how many people would be thinking exactly the same horried thoughts about your DC's crisps?

I would keep your eyes out for a 'AIBU to be shocked at the sight of a small child, not just eating crisps but trying to force them on a younger child' Grin

IAmTheCookieMonster · 02/03/2011 20:17

(he then threw DHs ketchup on the floor as a distraction while he tried to swipe his burger!)

GandTiceandaslice · 02/03/2011 20:18

I took my kids to MaCdonalds today. But I also took them to the dentist!
The baby will only eat the fruit bags.

Buttonnosedsausage · 02/03/2011 20:21

Ds eats McDonalds on occasion, he is 16 months old. Very few eating establishments cater to his allergies. There are things on the McDonalds menu that excludes major food groups he can actually eat without me having to spend a fortune and I don't have to worry to much if we are caught short. Yabu

thefirstMrsDeVere · 02/03/2011 20:21

Does s/he eat the fruit as well Gand Grin

twinkytonk · 02/03/2011 20:21

thefirstmrsdevere I probably am for giving it a second thought granted.

Oh yeah I do I've had the looks when he has a bag once a week. I find it quite amusing but then I am the only one who knows how he eats the rest of the time. He is older than a baby too!

Ha ha i'd pmsl if I saw a thread titled that Grin
