to think WTF when people that "we" are pregnant

It is only the female of the human species that can become pregnant so what is it with people speaking about "we are pregnant"

OK speak about "we are expecting a baby" because you clearly are BOTH expecting a baby, but this whole "we're pregnant" thing really gets on my nerves!!! Is it yet another Americanism?

YANBU, I really hate "we are pregnant" I would have decked my husband if he had said this, I didn't notice him having to push out an 8lb baby, it was definitely only me that was pregnant. Going off on a tangent slightly, why has Denise Van Outen written a baby book, she is a rather crap telly presenter who has had one baby, since when does that make you an authority on baby care .

Heidikit, I think that was why I was so bugged about it this morning! (still bugs me tonight though)

until WE stop drinking for 9 months and WE put on weight and WE get piles and WE cannot wear any of our normal clothes and WE have a million people stare up our va-jay-jays as WE push out something similar to a watermelon in size WE WILL NEVER BE PREGNANT.

I started a thread saying exactly the same thing a couple of months ago. A real bug-bear of mine. Grrrrr.
