to wish that I had had a CS with each of my DC's?

I have given birth naturally 3 times. I tore a little bit each time but healed well. However, I have been left with problems with my pelvic floor which got worse after each birth.

I was just idly thinking back today to before I had kids and my sex life then. I used to really enjoy sex and I could remember what it felt like. However, now I cannot even feel my DH when he is inside me. Intercourse is now completely unpleasurable for me and I miss how it used to feel. Not only that, but I suffer from stress incontinence. Every time I sneeze I wet myself. I am too young for this :-(. I had some physio at the hospital after the birth of my last child and did kegel exercises til I was blue in the face, but nothing helped.

I know that there is a procedure to sort out everything 'downstairs' but it seems that people frown upon it because they think women only do that for men. Well, I am entitled to a fulfilling sex life as well, am I not?

Anyway, at this point in time I really regret having vaginal births and wish I had had CSs. If I had my time again, I would opt for an elective CS without a shadow of a doubt.

Completely OT. I really hope it doesn't get any worse. SQ is a fabulous man and does seem to be genuinely liked by his citizens.
We lived there for three years and it was fantastic.
Now, lets hand the thread back to the OP.

PelvicFloored as someone else said the weight of the baby does the damage to your pelvic floor before the birth but the lack of sensation in your vagina may be due to nerve damage which I suppose could have been either caused by the weight of the baby or the baby passing through the birth canal. Particularly if the baby(ies) were large/heavy or you had intervention (ventouse/forceps). And of course with three tears you have tree layers or areas of scar tissue which of course wont be as sensitive as before. Go see your GP and tell them and see if they can check out the nerve/tissue damage possibility.

Thanks Snuppeline. Actually, I was having physio at the local hospital and the problem with my vagina is that it is too lax. I would need it tightened up to really make a difference. As I said earlier, I looked into this previously. I posted about it on another site and got flamed. The thing is, if I have another baby I would not want to give birth vaginally again in case it gets any worse. However, I am a bit horrified by some of the CS stories I have read here, so maybe I need to have a re-think...

Thanks for posting everyone Smile

Another one here to add that you really don't wish that. Had 3 EMCSs. That is majory abdominal surgery. Can't drive for at least 4 weeks (not allowed to cos of insurance), can't pick up child from cot as can't get out of bed cos of catheters. Scar that feels weird (12 years later). I think that's cos of adhesions.

Otoh, no pelvic floor worries, still tight, just got a bit of overhang on the tummy.

I think that I have read some statistics that say CSs are much more dangerous than vaginal births.

My tummy muscles are ruined from my CS's. I find it very hard to find clothes that look nice and can't remember when I didn't have to wear spanx when wearing a dress. And having a CS is no guarantee whatsover that your pelvic floor will be fine.

You need to see your GP. You can be helped.
