The models on here are pregnant

Flisspaps · 27/02/2011 19:55

No stretch marks or excessively hairy bellies though it seems...

chipmonkey · 27/02/2011 19:57

Well, if they are nursing bras, rather than maternity bras, I don't see why they can't be size 8. It is possible to be size 8 and breastfeeding.

Disclaimer: I have never been size 8 while bfing.

MogadoredMemoo · 27/02/2011 19:59

But nursing bras are for breast feeding so you would usually be pregnant when using it would you?

MogadoredMemoo · 27/02/2011 20:00

wouldn't

dwpanxt · 27/02/2011 20:00

This is probably the first time I ever laughed at a maternity bra advert

MogadoredMemoo · 27/02/2011 20:01

I have a friend who has shrunk straight back down to a size 8 after each if her 4 babies.

oggybags · 27/02/2011 20:01

chipmonkey - fair point, but just suprised M&P etc use standard lingere models - for maternity bras too
I'm just in a narky mood as I cant find bras for nursing - at 36 weeks seem to be to big for M&P bras & m&s don t fit etc! [embarassed]

What makes me laugh is the way the models look all coy and serene unclipping their bra, not a baby in sight - when in real life it's a desperate fumble with a bairn being flown straight in with the other arm ..!

chipmonkey · 27/02/2011 20:11

oggy, have you tried Bravissimo? They seem to do every size you could think of?

Or bras4mums I got some lovely bras from them when feeding ds4.

I wouldn't get too many in any case. Once you've had the baby and have been feeding for about 6 weeks, your breasts might be more like they were pre-pregnancy. At least mine were, though I'm sure it varies.

ethelina · 27/02/2011 20:12

HotMilk are bloody fantastic. Worth the money and no-one else compares, IMO.

foreverondiet · 27/02/2011 20:14

Here's another one... I bought a sleep bra from jojo maman bebe. Pre pregbnancy I was a small 34B, so I am not big breasted. The bra said universal fit up to 38DD.... so thought it would be fine, but no breasts fell out the top.

cruelladepoppins · 27/02/2011 20:17

x-posted - dwpanxt I loved the ad!

chipmonkey · 27/02/2011 20:20

Hotmilk are lovely but I don't think they do very large sizes, do they?

marriednotdead · 27/02/2011 20:23

Up to 42H chipmonkey Smile

ThistleDoNicely · 27/02/2011 20:24

I'm more concerned bra manufacturers seem to expect us to be size 8 while pregnant/bfing - or so their sizes suggest. Tried many shops and maternity and nursing bras seem to be readily available in B-DD cup but I've struggled to find bigger. Falling out of FF maternity bra from Debenhams ( normally F cup but anything underwired has been SO ubcomfortable since about 6weeks pg ) but managed to find GG nursing bra in M&S which is almost big enough and I'm only 6 months pregnant. Hoping they don't get much bigger when milk comes in or I'll be totally stuck. Never thought I'd be longing to be a B cup but the shops at least seem to stock that size!

mmsmum · 27/02/2011 20:26

You won't be pregnant when feeding because you will be feeding the baby that you were pregnant with. So why do you want models to be pregnant? Are you sure you don't just want them to be fat to make yourself feel better?

chipmonkey · 27/02/2011 20:30

They have improved then. Think they used to be more limited.

MrsTittleMouse · 27/02/2011 20:34

thistle - I second chipmonkey's suggestion. Bravissimo had a breastfeeding bra to fit me and I was a 32H when I was breastfeeding. Shock

oggybags · 27/02/2011 20:41

mmsmum - slightly harsh, I was 10 pre preg at 10 maternity, so not hostile no, first time mum with no idea what to expect afterwards...

Why should a model have to be pg ? That means she can only do that particular kind of modelling for 9 months. I think thats unfair. why do you have to have big boobs to model underwear. I am big, but women bfeed with big boobs and small boobs. And you have to be bfing or pg in order to model it ? rubbish.

BaronessBomburst · 27/02/2011 21:40

For anyone with REALLY big boobs, try www.nursingbra.co.uk I am a 34J or 32K and that's the only place I could get anything to fit. Just wish I could get underwired....... :(
