dd had her first macds today.

she's already had nandos a few times, which is probably just as bad.

AM wondering how old she needs to be to chow down a full happy meal. With coke obviously.

She is dc2 btw

Oh yes to the milkshake. Nice and cold for a teething baby, too.

Ha, that's nothing! DP, DS, DD and I had Pizza Hut for lunch yesterday, and chinese for dinner! Was delicious Grin!

The friends who convinced that BLW was the way to go sold it to us by telling us that their daughters first foods were pizza crusts and fat chips.

DD isn't that bothered about chips but would happily eat all the batter off my fish when we have fish and chips.

When DS was six or seven months old I used to give him bits of whatever I was having for my lunch for him to gum on, he'd have his own lunch and then a sandwich crust or slice of cucumber or whatever while I was eating mine. Now and then this would include a French fry or pizza crust.

A few months ago we went to McDonalds for lunch and he refused his lunch because he was more interested in what everyone around us was eating. He was about 15/16 months old. So we got a Happy Meal, fish fingers, a fruit bag, and milk to drink. He didn't eat the lot, but he had one of the fish fingers, nearly all of the fruit bag, and we put the milk in his sippy cup. He's had maybe two since then, he's 18 months now.

Certain foods aren't for every day or even every week but as an occasional thing I don't see the problem. The way I see it everything in moderation as part of a healthy and active lifestyle is fine. I'd rather teach my son that lesson than teaching him that certain foods are forbidden - what's that saying about how forbidden fruit tastes sweetest? Saying something is forbidden would just make him want it more.

DS was weaned on garlic bread and pizza fingers Grin
