Basically i work full time with 10 month old twins, have a few days off work but still sent dts to the cm.I have felt recently exhausted and felt like i was going to collapse somedays. I will have the remainder of my hol with them but for 2 days still took the dts to their cm, didnt think it was an issue until dp said 'aren't you going to spend the whole time with them?I am surprised as i thought you would want to spend all your free time with them.'
I feel a bit crap now but to be honest all i have done is spend my 'free time' cleaning the house and doing all the bloody chores that i just dont get time for usually.

you were unreasonable to have spent the 2 days without your twins doing housework!!!

in your position i would have tried to blitz the house in one day (or frankly just do as much as poss - who cares about a bit of dust?) and spent the other day shopping, lunching, drinking coffee and reading Red Mag Smile

Nope I'm doing the same on Wednesday!! Will have a nice child (and guilt) free day!!

Everyone needs time to themselves do not feel guilty!

YANBU Your have twins, you work. Have you considered getting a cleaner? Please don't let guilt trip mean your precious time is spent on chores and cleaning if you need your own time off.

SmethwickBelle · 25/02/2011 17:03

YANBU - if you can get away with it don't spend the day cleaning though, go back to bed and sleep, sleep sleep!

Mishy1234 · 25/02/2011 17:12

YANBU.

I think you NEED these days off in order to remember who you are! Your DC won't know any different, apart from having a more relaxed mummy of course (assuming you got a rest after doing all the cleaning!).

chutneypig · 25/02/2011 17:16

YANBU. I definitely think that age was the hardest with twins and working full time - it does get easier - and you need to look after yourself.

And I don't think your DP has been paying attention Smile.

yanbu! I have 2 weeks off in April - 1 week is Easter holidays so will be spent with the two kids, the second week is MINE! I will take them to daycare/school and then spend the day doing what the hell I want. I work, I pay childcare, I want some holiday for myself!

YANBU, hope you managed to recharge your batteries!

thankyou everyone!!
i have felt like i am struggling recently and that everything is starting to get on top of me so it felt like it would make sense to use this time, as sad as it might sound, to catch up on things that i really havent had time for such as cleaning etc.
I also made time for lots of coffee, lovely long bath and bit of time on mn

aaah, the best bit about time off with no kids. A hot cuppa, a bath uninterrupted and being able to wee alone. Roll on the end of April!

If YABU then I am. And I don't have twins.

DD's are 3 and 5 and were in nursery all week this week even though I had wednesday and today off. I did catch up on some work while they were in and did some housework, mning and other important stuff.
