I am selling my Quinny Zapp, it's in excellent condition and I have put in the ad that's it's got no accessories hence price of £35.

Have had 3 separate enquiries today asking if it has accessories and whats 'my best price'

FFS it's a £100+ stroller for £35. You can't even buy a brand new jive from mother care for that (well you cab but just)

Is this how it goes, should I have put it up for £50 and taken £35?

Ummmm that's a good price Hmm

FabbyChic · 23/02/2011 21:14

Thats a good idea, put it up for firty and flog for 35.00! I bet you get it easier too.

Rememember to check your PayPal account for the funds when you are paid if that is how you are accepting payment, don't send it on the back of an email you receive that ask for tracking before you get your cash.

Good luck with selling it.

mosschops30 · 23/02/2011 21:17

I just want it gone, I've got rid of everything else this wk. It's even in the original box, it's well looked after.
I just don't know what people want?
Yeah sure have my Quinny for £20Hmm

Hell i dont even need a buggy but want a quinny at £35!

But yes i think gumtree is full of bartering, dh was selling a car and had lots of phone calls asking for the best price Hmm He said he would entertain offers after they had viewed it

littleducks · 23/02/2011 21:21

Reply £34.99 Wink

YABU. People love a bargain, so maybe you should have priced it higher to allow for haggling.

As a seller: If you think it's worth the higher price, stick with it you don't have to accept the offer.

As a buyer: If you ask for their best price and what's the worst outcome? A no and a bit of embarrassment.

mosschops30 · 23/02/2011 21:40

But it is a bargain, what do they want, blood? Grin

yabu I haggle everywhere, and I mean everywhere. the only place i give what thy ar asking is tesco. Even big stores are now prepared to negotiate. Try it and see

HalfPastWine · 24/02/2011 00:28

I'd love to give haggling a go, I just don't have the bottle to do it!

eddiemccready · 24/02/2011 12:24

why on earth not half past? your money is hard earned, why hand it over so easily?

tethersend · 24/02/2011 12:26

The evil bastards.

YANBU.

Compulsive hagglers really get on my tits. There are some things that are negotiable. Most aren't. And please don't get me onto jumble sales and fucking dealers....

KittyChat · 24/02/2011 12:49

My company is sales based and we get this all the time. Everything is negotiable and most people are aware of that. We would only give the final price to people who are 'serious buyers'; littleducks' husband is employing a tactic that we ourselves use.

Maybe mark it up so you can knock it down again? On sites like gumtree everything is seen as negotiable.
