It was early.

I was tired and hormonal and grumpy.

He asked me for ID Shock

I said 'Fuck off. I'm 36,'

He looked a little taken aback.

dd has to ask for id
works at checkout at waitrose
she was caught by under cover shopper and got told off for not asking
she thought they looked about 23ish
she's meant to ask if they look 25 or younger
very difficult
she now asks all the time

I'm glad I don't suffer from reflex swearing. I'm afraid you were BU, even if I'm pretty much the only one who thinks so.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 21/02/2011 22:08

I dunno, I think pretending that you are a slip of a girl could be considered flirting.

Of course, now next time he sees you, he is going to chuck a bucket of holy water over you and hide under the counter. Wink

You can't seriously expect us to believe that someone who swears like a navvy also blushes at the thought of a garage man being flirtatious?

Northernlurker · 21/02/2011 23:21

I think this was pretty rude tbh.

waffleanddaub · 22/02/2011 00:31

I'm jealous Envy It made my day when the self service checkout called for an assistant when I tried to put through a bottle of wine. Only a machine would do that these days!!

BustleInYourHedgerow · 22/02/2011 00:51

YABU. And rude. He's just doing his job. And a shitty thankless one at that. You weren't happy going to work at 6.30, I'm pretty sure he wasn't happy already being in work at 6.30. I don't know about the U.K., but in Ireland you can get hit with a hefty fine for serving underage people cigarettes. ( Can you tell I work in a garage and am fed up with people talking to me like I'm something they've scraped off the bottom of their shoe?)
