To think you shouldn't take a small child to the cinema if the child is going to talk all the way through the film?

So yesterday took my kids to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader which was excellent. But our enjoyment was marred by the woman next to us who had brought her 2 or 3 yr dd to the film, who talked through the entire film and her mum didn't ssshhh her but said things like "What's that darling? You want to see the talking lion? Yes he will be on soon. Yes he is a lovely big dragon" Blah blah. The film was completely beyond the comprehension of the child, who was crying to go home, and saying things like "mummy I want to see the dragon" After an hour and ten minutes, they decide to leave. But wtf, do people have no consideration for the rest of the audience? It was a kids am showing, so I guess you can expect a bit of extra noise, but thought talking non stop through the film was over the top. And also it is a scarey film for small children.

If that's the way you want to behave when watching afilm, seriously, wait for the DVD!

I stand by my belief that the cheap showings are to teach "cinema manners", not to abdicate all responsibility towards the other people in the cinema.

I've only had that happen once and it didn't bother me I felt sorry for he kid it was transformers and he kept asking his mum stuff loudly because he couldn't follow the plot "is he dead?" "is that bumblebee?".

what pisses me off is the little bastards who kick the seat and the bitch mothers who just flippantly mutter "don't do that dear" every so often as some sort of feeble excuse to make it look like they are trying to do something when in truth they really don't give a shit and get all upperty and mouthy when I turn round and tell their kid where I will stick that shoe if it makes contact with the back of my seat again.

I really hate people like that.

sorry I missed the kids am session I would have expected AM or morning Grin

I think it's all the food they sell some people just can't eat quietly

my dd went to a movie party and I was completely traumatised by the behaviour of some of the 8 yr old girls running all over the seats, talking all the way through eating and drinking non stop standing up etc etc

given me a whole new level of sympathy for the teachers Wink

I don't understand why you would take children to the cinema to learn 'cinema manners'.
Just wait until they're old enough to sit still and enjoy the film without disturbing anyone else.
Simples!
