to think Take Me Out is perhaps the most offensive programme on TV. Ever.

Utterly disgusting in every single way.

repulsive.

they objectify each other - they objectify the bloke throughout, then if some lights are on, the bloke chooses the prettiest - seems perfectly equal to me...

I quite like it as zone-out tv

JumpOnIt · 19/02/2011 21:58

No likey - no watchy.

No more offensive than some of the other shite on the box. It's not like they don't know what they are letting themselves in for.

QueeferFuckerland · 19/02/2011 22:05

Urgh, it's a meat market.

I won't watch it. I wouldn't let DD watch it either.

TragicallyHip · 19/02/2011 22:09

It's tosh but I love it!

Don't watch it if you don't like it!

mangle · 19/02/2011 22:26

cringe tv!

backwardpossom · 19/02/2011 22:31

No wonder there's a problem with binge drinking in this country when this shit is the best they can come up with for primetime Saturday evening TV

princessparty · 19/02/2011 22:33

I think you need to take the stick out of your arse, and see it for what it is, a bit of nonsense!

yousankmybattleship · 19/02/2011 22:34

Love it! Perfect Saturday night telly. How is it offensive?

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 19/02/2011 22:36

haven't watched any of this series - but I fail to see what's "offensive" about it. It's mindless, zone-out saturday night TV (which has always been shit and probably always will be shit)

thefruitwhisperer · 19/02/2011 22:47

Sorry but JoJo just got a date and my friend text me to say how happy she was (JoJos been trying for ages and is really nice)

An example of how it brings people together Grin

Katiekitty · 19/02/2011 22:59

I am laughing so much at Jump's 'no likey no watchy'

Why is that so funny?

Katiekitty · 19/02/2011 23:02

to all those who don't like it:

Let the finger, see the remote...

potplant · 19/02/2011 23:08

Katie - good one Grin

I find it far less offensive then x factor.

Katiekitty · 19/02/2011 23:15

ooh, ta potters Smile

Nice comparison with the x factor too

I'd like to see the x factor contestants grapple with The Love Lift during their entrance to the stage... I don't think even Dermot could handle that.

(crosses arms and hoiks)

poochela · 19/02/2011 23:24

'let the pork........see the pie'

I salute you Paddy McGuiness. Grin

adamschic · 19/02/2011 23:27

Fist time I've seen it in ages, loved it it's funny and so glad JoJo got a date at last. No likely no lighty (or lighten up).

Triggles · 19/02/2011 23:42

saw it for the first time recently. completely ridiculous and utterly stupid. switched it off. don't care if someone else watches it, obviously. just don't ever want to waste my time on it again. lol

splashyy · 20/02/2011 00:03

Yabu! I think you need to chill :)

Its mindless and funny, nothing more to it! Don't understand what's offensive about it!

vmcd28 · 22/02/2011 17:02

Yabvvvu. The MOST offensive thing on tv?! You're joking, right?
Bearcrumble, agreed.

Why is it offensive for -overly- confident men, most of whom have massive egos, to have 20 women tell them how hot they are? Then he gets his pick of the ones who fancy him. Seems EXACTLY the same as what goes on in most clubs on a Friday and Saturday night, except none of them are drunk.

And it's not offending the intelligence of the viewer - the people I know who watch it are all very intelligent yet enjoy it as being a bit of Saturday night fun. If you don't like it then don't watch it! It's no biggie!

There are plenty offensive things on tv, but this isn't one of them. Lighten up!

lilacisinlove · 22/02/2011 17:12

I watch it regularly, as do my DDs aged 11 and 13. We do not take it seriously, we are not offended and we don't honestly consider it high quality entertainment. It's just light entertainment.

btw, hasn't Paddy got loads more hair than he had in the last series?!!

Violet5 · 22/02/2011 18:02

It's a load of crap, i always turn over when it comes on. Bit annoying that i can't go out on a Saturday night and thats the kind of guff they use to fill a prime viewing slot with.

I do think it perpetuates sexist behaviour, and i don't find anything entertaining about it.

I don't really find it offensive but i do find it a bit of a hangover from the 80's and pretty sad.

I don't think i really need to lighten up because i don't like it...i do think i need to find a way to get out more though with crap like that filling up every other chanel Grin

vmcd28 · 22/02/2011 18:17

:)
Violet5, not sure if it's my "lighten up" comment you're referring to, but for the record I was aiming that at the op saying it's the most offensive thing on tv. Of course it's not.

DurhamDurham · 22/02/2011 18:23

"ALL BY MYSELF......DON'T WANNA BE...ALL BY MYSELF!!!"

I'm such a bad mother that I sit and watch it with my two teenage daughters.

We sway along and sing when they have to walk up the stairs without a date.

I'm a disgrace I know. But Saturday night tv has always been crap and mildly offensive Grin

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 22/02/2011 18:24

It's a load of rubbish but not what I'd call offensive.
