to want the toilet roll to have the end away from the wall

DW always puts the toilet roll with the loose end towards the wall and it drives me mad
When I have had a jobby I just want to grab the end that should be hanging down within easy reach and wipe my botty instead of trying to find the end which is more often than not against the wall
Life is to short to be fiddling with toilet paper

good grief...surely there are more important things to worry about!

rocketleaf · 19/02/2011 23:03

YABU to be a grown man and use the terms tinkle, wee wee and willy Wink

DH is completely random about this and I must say it bugs me enough to have turned it the 'right' way round in the past. However, I am normally really lazy and just put the bog roll on the window sil instead of putting it on the holder and I know this really annoys him so I guess I don't really have a leg to stand on.

begonyabampot · 19/02/2011 23:04

I'm with you OP. I'm getting upset just thinking about it .

FoundWanting · 19/02/2011 23:05

This is a 'man thing', isn't it?

DH can't change the toilet roll when it runs out, but he feels the need to announce to the whole household that he has had to turn it round the right way

Weird.

rocketleaf · 19/02/2011 23:10

Bit of roll reversal going on in our house then Wanting? (i am not a man)

I have OCD, and have to have the loo roll hanging down the back.

DD1, who also has OCD, has to have it hanging down the front.

Who should be the one to give in d'y'think?

oldsilver · 19/02/2011 23:15

Ours is on a stand so the argument is does it go to the right or the left - at least its not against the wall YANBU

northerngirl41 · 19/02/2011 23:15

YANBU - it is defo the wrong way round if it's next to the wall....

Suggestion: If your DH is anything like mine is, he'll switch it round just to annoy you. I took the liberty of REMOVING all the stupid things and supplying a big basket of loo rolls instead - haha! I've foiled his attempt to drive me insane [laughs manically]

chillipickle · 19/02/2011 23:29

I agree that it's wrong to have the loose end against the wall, but I do this to stop my DCs from having fun spinning the roll and watching the whole thing unravel.

poochela · 19/02/2011 23:38

Do you fold it over into a triangle too? B&B style? I never gave it much thought until I caught the facing out and folding under habit from my friend. Now am slave to it.

BTW botty? seriously?

So is loo roll orientation the new tooth paste lid? (and why is it all these issues are bathroom based?)

enimod · 20/02/2011 10:34

i turn it around- it drives me mad!

Lilymaid · 20/02/2011 10:43

I remember attending a college lecture on stress where the lecturer (male) suggested that people often got stressed about unimportant matters and gave the example of which way the toilet roll hangs. There followed a furious debate where the students (all mothers about to return to work) told him that it was important!

Sierra19 · 20/02/2011 12:31

YANBU. I change it if I find it's been put on the wrong way, at work, in public and at other peoples houses.

the loose end should hang over teh top and be at the front and every one who does otherwise is wrong!

I also turn toilet rolls around in other people's houses....how else are they to see the error of their ways??

:P

cakeywakey · 20/02/2011 14:32

YA sooo NBU OP. I'd leave your wife if I were you if she can't even get these basic things right Wink
