Anyone else seen this on the wright stuff this morning? It's a safe sex song with the above line embezzled into the lyrics. Personally as someone within the target audience I think it's really crap. It reminds me of those bad actors they used to draft in during high school assemblys to do a play about safe sex that everyone thought was really silly and took the piss out of for the rest of the day!

I wonder how many teenagers are running about highschool today singing about bumsex and how funny it is!!

Voddy..are you a Kreecher twin (or are you both the same person on different email addresses?)

I only ask out of curiosity.

seriously...The illireracy among adults is a serious problem (Some put a figure of 6 million on it.)

I thought we all went to school for about
10 compulsorilyyears Why do so many come out not reading?

Background? Poor teaching? Or do some people just not GET words?

cheers "Gabby"

Thingumy · 18/02/2011 13:57

Oh the irony...

GabbyLoggon · 18/02/2011 14:03

thingumy get serious kiddo

In your senior class at school how many of the boys/girls were unable to read?

And how many people do you know who are incapable of reading A SUN headline. (Or even a Daily Torygraph headline.)

Taboo...I think adults are afraid to admit that they cant read; so they never get to nightclass or even the open university?

Its no good saying there is no problem. Tons of research suggests otherwise.

cheers "Gabby"

MarioandLuigi · 18/02/2011 14:04

Gabby - reading your posts always gives me a headache. Its like reading a bad autotranslation.

Thingumy · 18/02/2011 14:08

In my class? All of us were able to read.

What has this got to do with the op's original post?

GabbyLoggon · 18/02/2011 14:11

Alright Kreecher, so you played truant. Admission is good for the soul.

I think what happens with some boys; is they get so far behind in class...They are no longer interested in learning. so they piss about or play truant.

And I have a suspicion that teachers give up on slow learners.

(Its a far cry from condoms and anal...that subject was played out after 6 posts)

GabbyLoggon · 18/02/2011 14:18

Luigi calm down

How do you get on reading Shakespeare. Barbara Cartland or the Sunday Times.?

Do any of those 3 stretch your reading ability?

We all have a "comfort zone" on reading.

The Italian president has difficulty with English (and condoms perhaps)

Thingumy · 18/02/2011 14:18

It wasn't played out ,you spouted your usual Unfathomable unrelated crap.

Are you posting after hitting the lunchtime bottle?

olderandwider · 18/02/2011 14:18

I thought this thread was about anal sex not illiteracy...

OK - unprotected anal sex - bad.

illiteracy - bad.

See what I did there? Knitted two disparate thoughts together in an awesomely intricate way.

MarioandLuigi · 18/02/2011 14:42

I loved Shakespeare - thanks for asking :)

GabbyLoggon · 18/02/2011 14:53

Yes, Luigi, so you love William . well, some critics say King Lear is the best play ever written/

And some people say Shakespeare was writing with other writers. (Bacon is mentioned)

But Shakespeare is not a populist; most people think he is too vague.

But everyone seems to get Charles Dickens.
It may be because his plays are good on tv... Oliver, Bleak House, A Christmas Carol and The Archers. (I am not sure about the last one,) cheers "Gabby"

FoundWanting · 18/02/2011 15:03

I thought I knew Shakespeare's works quite well. And Dickens', come to that.

I don't remember the 'one up the bum, no harm done' line. Confused

GabbyLoggon · 18/02/2011 15:09

FW None of us remember the "Up the bum" line.....
in WS and CD. It may have appeared in Hank Janson all those years ago. "Gabby"

GabbyLoggon · 18/02/2011 15:11

You deserve an Oscar for that one, OlderAndWider

FurCoatNoNickname · 18/02/2011 15:11

how to hijack a thread in 3 easy lessons...

LongtimeinBrussels · 18/02/2011 15:24

I'm a bit Confused as to what Gabby is actually talking about. It doesn't seem to relate that well to the thread.

I also don't understand how she can spout about illiteracy when her punctuation is, quite frankly, appalling. Sorry Gabby but it makes your threads difficult to follow.

Voddy · 18/02/2011 15:33

I find that normally I can get the point of a poorly worded post just by the context, but Gabby seems to just be banging his (?) head against the keyboard and accidentally hitting 'post message' now and then Smile

TalcAndTurnips · 18/02/2011 15:34

There is an old Navy saying, apparently uttered by Plymouth prostitutes whilst entertaining their young clients:

(to be said with broad West Country burr)
"Stick it up me transom, me 'andsome - no babbies up there!"

splashyy · 18/02/2011 16:40

Lol at bumsex being safe sex!

when I was young it was sung as "one up the bum, no harm done, one up the fanny, your mum's a granny."
