AIBU to sometimes lie about doing overtime just so that I can have an hour to myself (on MN) before I go home from work

I lied about doing overtime yesterday to DH, when I was too busy at my desk on MN.

I don't intend to do this often.

Most days I get home from work at 6pm, between 6pm and 9pm (dd 4month bedtime)I never get any free time - asda/dinner/dishes/bathing dd/various other...

So just to take an extra hour at the end of my working day - AIBU..??

It sounds ok, no big deal. But then I look at it from your dh's point of view. If I were him and I found out, I'd be really pissed off.

I see your point Pointy (no pun intended :))

And Hetty, you're right I shouldn't lie, I know he'd be okay with it infact - so perhaps I'll own up.

No need to own up, it'll just bite you on the arse. Just don't make a habit of it and negotiate.

Hetty - you are very knowledgable! Thank you for the advice.

Kaz I don't think YABU at all. But I don't think it's the answer, either. I think, as has been said, that you BOTH clock off when the work is done for the day. That's how we work it, anyway.
