We don't need to know every last detail!

Feel like offering out my services as a freelance op editor.

I don't have time to read a 500 word essay on why you've gone off your mate/don't trust your dh/want to break contact with your sister.

Sheesh.

OK so some are a little long winded but at least you get the majority/ all of the facts on which to base your reply.

Often you will get comments by posters complaining about op's drip feeding info - can win I guess.

treas · 17/02/2011 17:38

can't win Blush

I liked the one the other day where the OP did a short version and a longer version with all the detail. I think it was about pasties.

Northernlurker · 17/02/2011 19:13

Madame Defarge that is a great post!

I agree with the op and really long ops without paragraphs drive me mad!

stripeywoollencunt · 17/02/2011 19:18

yes, and almost every time they're just trying to say "oops, seem to have married a gobshite, what now?"

bibbitybobbityhat · 17/02/2011 21:05

Its not always because there is so much pertinent information.

here is a perfect example

(with apols to the op, but honestly, you could have said it in three sentences).

Paragraphs and puntuation or I give up. I just can't read them otherwise. And my T and my upper case buttons are both broken and it's driving me nuts, because it takes me twice as long to type anything I am a pedant.

mumsgotatum · 17/02/2011 22:04

Yous sound bitter and twisted!

usualsuspect · 17/02/2011 22:05

YANBU ..I have a very short attention span

bigbeagleeyes · 17/02/2011 22:05

And there should have been a full stop between anything and I. Sorry.

WhensBedtime · 17/02/2011 22:11

OP,that's a bit harsh, no? New posters don't really know MN 'style'.

Madame Defarge, that made me howl! Grin
