Some gorgeous roses arrived at work this morning, from DD at University, with a card saying
"I feel you deserve these as 21 years ago you were in a lot of pain and I wasn't making things any easier for you. Thank you for everything you've done for me, I love you and Daddy very much xxx

I am welling up....

oh what an absolutely lovely thing to do - you obviously raised a good un there!!

deepdarkwood · 17/02/2011 14:33

How utterly adorable

QuintessentialShadows · 17/02/2011 14:34

Smile You have obviously done a very good job, to have such a wonderful and thoughtful dd.

BottleOfRum · 17/02/2011 14:38

What a lovely DD you have, and what a credit she is to you. That made me well up with tears! I have never thought of my birthday in that way either, and now feel v guilty for it. It was just my bday last week too, so I'll have to wait a whole year before I can do it to my mum!

RatherBe · 17/02/2011 15:19

How lovely! Please don't let her know that she has inadvertently reduced us all to tears (and I am notoriously stiff-upper-lipped) - I am sure she would be horrified!

acorntree · 17/02/2011 15:28

Another one with tears in her eyes here...that is beautiful. You are really lucky to have such a thoughtful dd

I'm usually the first to be cynical madreinglese, but I just can't do it today!

Happy 21st Birthday to your daughter. It sounds like you've done a fantastic job on raising her to be so thoughtful.
